Today, we heard from Felecia, a single mom of four who works up to three jobs at a time to make ends meet. She counts on SNAP to help put food on the table. This is who Republicans in Congress are trying to take food away from. Listen to her story.

Maybe the Republicans should take some food from her. Geez. And from the two heifers on either side of her.
I still fail to see why taxpayers are obligated to take care of dummies who make their own poor choices in life for years upon years.
Government benefits work best when they are limited and encourage people to get their act together. If she wants to keep guzzling down her Ho-Hos and Mountain Dew, she should find a charity to sponge off of.

“Ideally there should to be a way to temporarily help people in a time of need, but not permanently support them for the rest of their lives.”
I always thought that was the way all Welfare was supposed to work, but am learning that’s not true. One generation after another in the same family is sucking up the money WE worked for.

Hey Felecia, here’s an easy fix. Try sharing some of that food with your kids rather than eating it all yourself. Problem solved.

“I see where her grocery budget is going.”
As hard as I try, I just can’t picture her and the word “budget” in the same sentence. Imagine living like that... [SMH].

Not true on the 3 jobs.
My sister bought a fixer-upper. She worked full-time at ADP, several evenings a week part-time at a call center, and cleaned houses on Saturday, all to fund her home repairs/remodel.
When she was done, it was stunning. After a year and $60K in work, she turned a $125K dump into a $400K mansion.
Sold it, rolled the profits, quit the call-center, got a big raise and promotion at ADP, quit the house-cleaning gig, and flipped that house for almost twice what she paid for it.
Now she lives in a gorgeous 5K sq foot home with a pool and outdoor kitchen. Makes over 130K a year at her job. Married, two kids, but still picks up weekend work for things she wants outside of the family budget.
The difference between my sister and this woman? No baby-daddies (husband only), smart investments, constant learning, laser-focused on success and the future instead of instant gratification.

For goodness sakes, don’t take any food away from Felicia. You could very well lose your hand.

Ideally there should to be a way to temporarily help people in a time of need, but not permanently support them for the rest of their lives.
That's the traditional role of local churches. When government raised our taxes to go into the welfare business, donations went down. It has been a downward spiral ever since.

Several Democrat run states could lose their SNAP programs, or see them reduced, if they don't meet the new House eligibility requirements.
However, Felecia lives in Missouri which is mostly Republican and so would meet the new requirements.
She would not lose her benefits.
The real solution here, by law, is to establish paternity of her children and then pay for her benefits from the paychecks of her baby-daddies. The government would only step in to help during times when her baby-daddies were in jail or otherwise unable to earn a living.

You missed the point...you can have 3 different jobs or more. You can’t work 3 jobs at the same time, you work one then go to the next.

When you see groceries in carts that is loaded with Sodas, candy, sugary cereals and other unhealthy foods, then you see the person buying them with EBT you know SNAP is abused.
A few days ago, wife and I were shopping at Winn-Dixie, and a lady in line had 3 carts full of junk foods. I think the only 'healthy' food was a case of water. She looks like she could be a Defensive Line for the Tampa Bay Bucs. No, not a position player, but all four positions. Her kids were not skinny either.

“Felecia” (as shown) has four kids, three jobs, and relies on SNAP?
I don’t believe any of it.
