The mystery donor who distributed war time masks to protesters during the Los Angeles riots has been arrested.
Alejandro Theodoro Orellana faces a charge of conspiracy to commit civil disorders after he allegedly distributed tactical gear to suspected rioters on Tuesday.
He was taken into custody by FBI agents Thursday morning, US Attorney Bill Essayli confirmed.
Shocking video recorded during a local Fox broadcast Tuesday showed dozens of demonstrators rushing towards a Ford F-150 as a woman in the truck bed passed out gas masks and riot shields.
Orellana is suspected to have been driving the truck at that time.
Law enforcement are 'moving quickly' to identify and arrest all individuals involved in 'organizing or supporting civil disorder in Los Angeles', Essayli said.
Orellana and an unidentified woman were caught on camera dispersing tactical gear to a large crowd of demonstrators near the federal buildings in downtown LA.
The woman passed out 'bionic shield' branded gas masks and riot shields from the truck as the National Guard was stationed nearby.
Orellana and the woman appeared to be travelling in a group of masked individuals.

“...war time masks...”
I saw pictures of these and they are not war time masks. During my years with the military and the DOD we were working with M17 masks that were developed for a chemical atmospheres. (I liked the A1 model) And they had filters in them designed to protect the users. The current stock mask is the M50 JSGP mask that is the next generation from the M17. Better comm ports and better filter change capacity.
What these things they are passing out is not a war time mask, it is a riot gear shield that is designed to keep lighter objects from getting to the face. Against a weighted object there will be blow that, depending upon the weight and velocity, is going to be felt and painful. So these are not war time masks, they’re cheap imitations of armor. And if they are hit with something in the mug with any size, the wearer is going to feel it, maybe.

AND where did this thug get the money to purchase said gear? OR, more likely, from whom did he steal the gear?

You do know, don't you, that these pieces of protective headgear are for sale on Amazon. Didn't have to steal them.
Since when is it illegal to pass out personal safety equipment?
If he were passing out bottles of water it would pose a greater threat to law enforcement.
