I knew this was coming but it's not a post I wanted to make. My dad, Robert, has passed away. He was 87.
He was a staunch conservative, and a very big fan and supporter of President Trump. He and President Trump shared a birthday, June 14th.
He did serve in the Air National Guard as a clerk.
He wasn't a person who got into the internet. He was one of those people that eschewed the ways of modern life. He knew about Free Republic because I told him about it. He did support what we do here.

I too know the pain of losing one’s father. Over time, the grief becomes less sharp, but the good memories and gratitude endure undiminished.

If I may make a gentle suggestion: Try writing a lengthy and detailed obituary (not necessarily for Free Republic - not necessarily for publication at all). You may find it cathartic.

Your description of Robert reminds Me of My Father although Mine was starting to check out the newer Technology.
I know how much it hurts, been through this many years ago. I had to keep reminding myself that He’s no longer in pain and in a much better place than We are.
I’m the baby of 3 was the one that dealt with most of the aftermath and most of the arrangements.
