So many leaders in high perches chase titles, perks, bigger offices, and even bigger bonuses. But they’re not satisfied. The grass is always greener on the other side.
Here’s a truth I learned the hard way: Status and bigger paychecks mean little. What actually count are impact and presence.
Hard to swallow for many, I know. But think about it. No one remembers or really cares how charismatic a leader was or what car they drove. What stays etched in people’s memories is how a leader made them feel, how they showed up, and the moments they were fully human.

They just promoted at work to supervisor. People are talking. They are saying he wants to play supervisor but not do the work. Talks are good game.
Now that I’ve set the table, I’ll give you five simple, powerful ways to leave a lasting impact—and build the kind of legacy that actually matters.
1. Presence
2. Empathy
3. Trust
4. Experience
5. Gratitude

As egotistical as they may seem…Trump and Musk have these qualities…

How about Voice Projection. Ex:
"FROM NOW ON YOU WILL SPEAK ONLY WHEN SPOKEN TO, AND THE FIRST AND LAST WORDS OUT OF YOUR FILTHY SEWERS WILL BE SIR! DO YOU MAGGOTS UNDERSTAND THAT!" - Gunnery Sgt. Hartman | Full Metal Jacket.

Presence - is that like Rosa DeLauro? You can’t help but notice her.

I went through 4 ads on silent, and still never got to the article. That sucked.
I’m glad you gave the synopsis, but there may have been interesting tidbits in between. Or possibly there was a bunch of useless BS with poor grammar to show me how irrelevant it was.
I guess I’ll never know.

Could kind of consider those the "Leadership Virtues" huh? Might as well slip in the three Cardinal Virtues:
Faith: Believing in God and His teachings.
Hope: Trusting in God's promises and looking forward to eternal life.
Charity: Loving God and our neighbor.
And the four Cardinal Virtues that are common to all human beings, leader or not:
Prudence: Making sound judgments and acting wisely.
Justice: Treating everyone fairly and justly.
Fortitude: Showing courage and perseverance in the face of difficulties.
Temperance: Practicing moderation and self-control.

I notice nothing there is nothing in there about “willing to make unpopular decisions”, or “holds people accountable” or “fairness”. It’s all mostly fluff about how to make your subordinates happier, not necessarily how best to get them to achieve whatever the goal is.

And look what the magazine chose to illustrate leadership...everybody around her is green with envy. Why, that hand gesture alone conveys big time gravitas.

There are butlers, custodians, cooks, gardeners who have been loyal to Trump for decades…and whose families speak well of him too…

Options:
1. Use Brave browser
2. Use “Reader View” in a browser
3. Buy a commercial ad blocker
I had no ads in the article in Safari. I think my AdBlock extension did the trick.
You really need those things these days. So many sites are so full of junk that they are not usable.

...and the biggest negative trait, throughout the Tile Industry, is the guy who changes depending on who is in the room. I’ve drug up my tools and walked away from high paying gigs for this very reason. I absolutely will not allow my name/quality of work to be associated with such people.

At the company I worked for the best way to move up was ...NEPOTISM. We saw many worthless sons of managers at other plants sent to ours to move up.
