Can Rand and conservative allies defeat the bill or get substantial changes? Who wins? Who are you rooting for?
This debate will be interesting. One for the ages.
Very misleading title.
Trump said the Senate should indeed make the BBB better.
Elon criticized Congress, not Trump.
From the above facts, it looks like it's Trump and Elon against do-nothing Rand.
Not enough people in the white house or Congress are serious about debt reduction.
In the very least they should be jamming DOGE initiatives into every spending bill. While departments should be closed and sold off before Christmas.
Musk doesn’t get a vote, but Rand does and will be voting with the RATS. And Elon has criticized Republicans for not codifying DOGE cuts, not President Trump. BS article title.
Rand Paul has supported and defended Trump for years - from phony Russia-gate, to impeachment, to dealings with Russia
Yes, Trump needs legislative victories, but he should reach out to obvious allies like Paul, Roy, or Massie. Not attack them
It just empowers cynical and smooth backstabbers like Lindsey Graham
Haha. You think you and Rand’s ship has finally come in. Haha. You are a sick little psyop. Elon’s too smart to hitch his wagon to Rand Paul of all people. Rand is a weak, weak horse, a political nonentity. Rand is just acting as an errand boy for The GOP establishment sent to derail The President’s agenda. He cares nothing about the country.
..... Its the Democrats wet dream that they have been hoping for since the new Trump term began .... only a few months ago.....
.
Elon said this on X:
“Elon Musk

I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore.
This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination”.
Does not sound good to me. Last thing we need is more spending.
because do nothing rand paul is showing he can obstruct Trump from getting what Trump wants, done....
Since rand is already testing iowa...
How about discussing rand's position on illegal aliens... you know, is comments about legalizing the perpetual 11 million (really likely >30 million) illegals that are in this country....
Or how he wants to have it both ways with marijuanna, saying he wants states to let people to have the freedom to use marijuanna.... but he's not going to advocate for it...
or how rand talks about racial disparities with how blacks are treated in dealing with drugs or other crimes...
or how rand pushed for dei by pushing a bill to have at a minimum, one minority candidate interviewed for all management positions...
Since I have no idea what’s in the bill I don’t know how to respond as to whether or not I support it. Elon Musk has uncovered tons of gov. waste and apparently has had a good look at the bill. Since I have a lot of respect for him, I’m thinking he has some ideas on how to make the bill more affordable, and Pres. Trump is favorable to that, cutting more spending. Seems to me the article is trying to produce a divide between the two men.
The BBB sucks and filled with BS like everything that comes out of Congress.
This is an imaginary conflict. Truemp would most certainly like to give Paul and Musk most of what they want (nobody in politics will agree 100%), but he may not have the votes.
Republican’ts only control the Supreme Court, the White House, the House of Representatives, the Senate, one of the largest social media platforms, the biggest podcasts and the momentum....
Now is not the time to be trying to decrease spending by even a penny. We need to save that for a more opportune time.
“Can Rand and conservative allies defeat the bill or get substantial changes? Who wins? Who are you rooting for?”
Rand Paul would have more weight to his argument if he would support codifying DOGE cuts (with more wasteful spending cuts) and factor in growth. The idiot thinks every dollar in the spending bill will increase the deficit. That is not true and/or that important. The idiot doesn’t recognize this.
It doesn’t matter if the deficit grows in number as long as GDP outpaces it. A 60% Debt to GDP ratio is perfectly fine and actually ideal.
So, if you cut government spending and grow the economy at a fast rate the deficit spending is not an issue at all. Sure Rand is right, if no economic growth (sorry, the economy is going to expand greatly thanks to Trump) and no cuts, than he is right. But the idiot does not factor any of this into his equations.
Rand wants nothing to be done.
Elon Musk to Rand Paul: If I sent you an email asking what you have accomplished in the last week, how would you respond?
Rand Paul:
Musk just shut up the guy who never shuts up.
I am with Musk 1000% on this, the absolute jaw dropping nonsensical thing OUR MONEY was being spent on has PISSED ME OFF!! I know that this USAID was a money laundering scheme making these bastards in DC wealthy ON OUR DIME!! After DECADES of this grift WE ALL KNOW the damn so called rescissions will NEVER happen I am 72 and just like most of you here have been watching this utter BS and excuses for DECADES the BEAST just keeps growing and we the people keep drowning!! ENOUGH!! I love Trump BUT it is time for the DC grift with OUR MONEY to stop!!! I am with Musk and Rand on this, Graham over in Ukraine undermining ALL OF US on our dime……..SPIT!!! This Big Beautiful Bill is a monstrosity and these bastards in DC need to push the lobbyists out of their offices and GET TO WORK for the people!!!
I do not recall ever seeing any long-term projection from anyone in DC that actually panned out. They're always wrong, they're always ideologically slanted, and they're always used simply to push opinions.
