My dad worked in fields in Italy as a boy. He would get water from a small spring on a hummock. Many years after he came to America, the hummock slumped one day and exposed an ancient fountain that locals thought was a spring. Much of an ancient village has been excavated. There is a museum at the site displaying many items. We visited when dad was in his 80’s and he filled his water bottle from the fountain.
