Steelers respond to fans angered by Mason Rudolph’s presence at Donald Trump rally

The “stick to sports” door swings both ways.

While the term rose to significance as a catchphrase for conservative voices who hoped to shout down athletes and media with conflicting beliefs (athletes and media who agreed were and are exempt from being told to shut up), fans who have concerns about the current state of the union are objecting to those athletes who are aligning with the person who’s running the show.

Mike Florio sounds like a wannabe Bill Mahre.

In the case of Mason Rudolph he's not that good. A lower profile is called for when one is fighting for a job. Does this mean Aaron Rogers has 'earned it'? No. He' just has more people listening to him.

There is a big difference between privately attending a rally and kneeling during a football game. I doubt if the author is that stupid.

All HBM (Has Been Media) articles start from the premise of “Let’s hate Trump”.

Steelers fans should be more concerned that the Steelers have always been a team to field a great defense and smash-mouth running game, not so much anymore. Now they play air ball like every other team.

All part of the narrative for any topic - right leaning equals controversial, left leaning equals normal.

Steelers have 3 playoff wins in the last 10 years.
Mason Rudolph not the problem

**Now they play air ball like every other team.**

The 70s steelers had Lynn Swan and John Stallworth along with Franco and Rocky. A balanced attack. No shotgun iirc.

Blame Tom Landry. He brought back the shotgun formation. The Qb is already in dropback position, instead of trying to get back there, set up AND look for the open receiver.

I probably haven’t watched a combined hour of nfl in the last 40+ years. But I know the players are faster.

Only have seen more college football because I am ocassionally at my son’s home on saturdays.

Frankly, I find it all waaay overhyped.

“I doubt if the author is that stupid.”

NBC sports? You might want to rethink that one.

They were bragging when Steve Kerr, LeBron James and Stephen Curry ended up endorsing Kamala Harris.

Why would anyone be angry that somebody showed up at a trump rally?

These aren’t your father’s Steelers fans....

You just go and lay your hand
On a Pittsburgh Steelers’ fan
And I think you’re gonna finally
understand

I don’t mind when an athlete or anybody else expresses their political beliefs on their own time. What I mind is when they do so on the job.

Do not kneel while in uniform at the stadium for the game.

Do not bloviate about your politics when you’re on stage and people have paid money and come to hear you sing.
