Tucker Carlson said he's not sure he can support the Republican party after a Florida congressman called for Gaza to be nuked.
Congressman Randy Fine, who was recently elected to replace Mike Waltz in Florida as the preferred candidate of President Trump, made the jaw dropping comments in a Fox News interview last month.
He said: 'In World War 2 we did not negotiate a surrender with the Nazis, we did not negotiate a surrender with the Japanese.
'We nuked the Japanese twice in order to get unconditional surrender. That needs to be the same here in Gaza.
'There is something deeply wrong with its culture and it needs to be defeated.'

Carlson, speaking on his podcast alongside Glenn Greenwald, said he was so taken aback by the comments that he initially thought they couldn't have been made by a real politician.
'I text a friend of mine in Congress,' Carlson said. 'This is a person who I confirmed is a real person. I didn't believe it at first... I didn't believe he was really a member of Congress.'
'It's evil. How can you say something like that and not get expelled from Congress? How can that person still be in the Republican party?'
Carlson went on to say that Fine's comments had made him question whether he could remain loyal to the Republican party.
'I don't know if I can support a party with someone like Randy Fine... that's so disgusting.
'So we're gonna nuke Gaza because of its culture? We're going to kill everyone because we don't like their culture?' he repeated incredulously.
'There are Christians in Gaza. Muslims in Gaza. To say there is some Gazan culture that's cohesive.'

But Fine is a Jewish Trump-backed pick who won 83 percent of the Republican primary vote

you are right. And I’ve been watching him nose dive quickly!
Same.
Where is your proof? Still waiting.
I don’t know what the solution is, but a culture that parades coffins of murdered babies in the streets to loud enthusiastic celebratory cheering is not a culture civilization can coexist with.
Mamilla Pool Massacre!
The eyewitness account of Strategius of St. Sabas narrates: “Jews ransomed the Christians from the hands of the Persian soldiers for good money, and slaughtered them with great joy at Mamilla Pool, and it ran with blood.”
“All righty then, we’ll put you down as an avid supporter of genocide and baby killing.”
That is fine with me. Genghis Khan is one of my heroes. However, even he made several mistakes. He let the women and children live. That was not very smart. The women and children lived so that they could breed more evil, sarcastic-one-CatHerd! ;-)
“Please educate us. I’ve always heard that Japan and Germany surrendered unconditionally.”
Germany, yes.
Japan, no. Truman lied about “unconditional surrender.” The one condition which Japan insisted upon was that the murderous, living God would stay as emperor. Truman caved and said, “OK.”
I do not propose to defend Carlson here, however, I do wish to point out that the entire Glenn Greenwald interview by implication pointedly questions the consistency of American policy in support of Israel, with all the alleged risks that policy courts, compared to America's new policy under Trump concerning Ukraine.
I do not necessarily mean to argue should not support Israel, or the reverse, I do suggest that we ought to consider whether the American First shibboleth or the "anti-globalism" mantra is consistently applied and whether resort to bumper stickers is the way to make foreign policy.
Non-combatants in Gaza are given safe passage out of the hot zones, along with food and meds.
Tucker seems terribly credulous.
Thinking Tucker may be undergoing the horseshoe paradox in politics where you go so far around the curve that you meet the opposing viewpoint
That said, the Israeli government is making a big mistake by slow walking the conflict in Gaza now that they have President Trump who is backing them up.
President Trump Netanyahu a green light to finish the job in Gaza but do it quickly so the plight of the “innocent civilians”does not become a media driven cause celeb
The IDF is moving cautiously and with obvious justified concern for both hostages and soldiers but that slow and methodical caution allows Israel’s foreign opponents to organize opposition to a coordinated larger solution to the problem and now it looks like pressure is on for another round of cease fire, prisoner release and token hostage release.
It would have been so much better if the IDF had taken the initiative and moved swiftly to resolve the outstanding issues despite the obvious difficulties they face doing so.
The slow methodical pace is actually paying dividends in Gaza , especially for the people of Gaza themselves, but Israel is running the risk of missing a once in a lifetime opportunity to resolve a lot of long standing and much larger issues if they lose momentum and miss the window of opportunity for a regional resolution
On a positive note
Thinking Tucker Carlson may be a canary in the coal mine on this issue
‘We nuked the Japanese twice in order to get unconditional surrender. That needs to be the same here in Gaza.’ congressman Fine
I’m Duke Nukem, and I approve this message.
Tucker should have worked to get Glenn Greenwald censored. That sets up a political process for the Florida voters to cull him from the herd.
But Hirohito was required to appear in public and he lost a lot of his mystique.
“Dug-out” Doug ran things and everyone knew it.
“Palestine” is a made up name from some old emperor wanting to tick off the Jews, the Philistines being mortal enemies. The area is Israel.
The Roman Emperor Hadrian is associated with naming the region of Judea as “Syria Palaestina” (or Palestine) around 135 CE. After suppressing the Bar Kokhba revolt (132–135 CE), Hadrian sought to diminish Jewish identity in the region by renaming it after the ancient Philistines, combining it with the province of Syria. This was part of broader efforts to reorganize the region and erase Jewish ties to the land following the rebellion.
Sorry Tucker I’m OK with it. Gaza is a radicalized population that needs to be dispersed to other regions.
Bingo. The name has been in use for two thousand years, and still is.
👍
I don’t watch Carlson, so thanks for the update!
“Palestine is a de jure sovereign state”
That is regardless of whether it exists in reality!
