Can someone help with getting the notification popup window at the bottom right of the screen to show the notifications again?
For instance, I used to get the popup window notification to show immediately when a Youtube video was downloaded. Not getting the window anymore. Now, up at the top right on the Youtube page there is a bell that will show the number of new videos since the last time I checked but if I don't constantly check, I never know. Not to mention the bell has when the videos were loaded all messed up - 1 hour ago, followed by one from yesterday, followed by one downloaded 23 seconds ago, followed by one downloaded 5 hours ago and then, surprise, they go through a rinse and repeat.
Yes, I've unsubscribed yt channels and re-subbed, but it doesn't help. I've scrolled through Setting - Notifications turning different things on and off, but it doesn't help. I've turned the computer on and off, but id doesn't help. I've called my paid for browser/vpn/whatever but they can't help. I've installed the latest versions of this and that, but it doesn't help.
I just want the bottom right hand corner little popup notification window to start showing again. I'm sure it is some obscure on/off button. Thanks for any help.
Is your computer plugged in?
Sorry.
But it’s a FR tradition.
All these years, I had no idea that it even existed.
Control, alt, delete all together.
I don’t have MS but this is what I found to “remove: it so it should also point you in the right direction to put it back. :)
Oops! Gotta log in, too. The secret code is, “a moose bit my sister.”
Windows 10 or Windows 11? And has there been a recent Windows update on your machine?
I have found that simply rebooting can fix things like that. It’s worth a try.
bgill already rebooted.
Settings > Notifications & Actions.
“Get notifications from apps and other senders” > ON
My theory is that they’re trying to force us off larger screen computers onto smartphones and tablets with a smaller screen so they can control what we see more easily.
Sounds like that’s the ticket.
Are you logged in?
TY. Do I turn ON or OFF the “Hide content when notifications are on lock screen”??? The instructions are confusing.
Ack, sorry. Windows 11 and no recent updates but this problem has been going on for over a month so can’t remember last update.
You are welcome, And I honestly do not know about that one, I would try it both ways and see what happens. A LOT of this stuff is trial and error... :
Sorry I couldn’t help more, I am a Linux user... :)
I have restarted and rebooted many times with no luck fixing it.
Yes, “Get notifications from apps and other senders” > ON
