An infant girl found dead in her family’s Queens apartment was not killed by the family dog as first suspected — and had already died before being bitten by the puppy, officials said Wednesday..
Six-week-old Kiyanna Winfield was in bed between her 26-year-old mother and her stepfather in their apartment in NYCHA’s Queensbridge North Houses in Long Island City when the couple woke up about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and saw the puppy biting the baby’s face, cops were told.
The infant died at the scene on 12th St. near 41st Ave. in Long Island City and initially investigators believed the puppy was responsible for the baby’s death.
An initial autopsy performed by was inconclusive with further testing needed to determine how the baby died, a city Medical Examiner spokeswoman said Wednesday. But the autopsy did reveal the dog bites were inflicted after the girl was already dead.

1 Kings 3:16-28
My oldest brother babysat for a family when I was a child. IIRC, the infant died in its sleep either the next day or the day after. He was questioned at the time. This was late 60’s. It was traumatic for both the family and my brother. He loved kids. He was great with all of us. It was an unfortunate thing.
Morbid, but thank you. Will be reading it.
I found some of King David’s life crises really difficult to read as well, not even the Bathsheba/Uriah part — but Absalom and his estranged children. Very explicit and disconcerting stuff. Nothing new about family dysfunction since Cain & Abel that’s for sure.
This was only up to 2019

“Of 2605 infant deaths reported to VAERS from 1990 through 2019, 58 % clustered within 3 days post-vaccination and 78.3 % occurred within 7 days post-vaccination, confirming that infant deaths tend to occur in temporal proximity to vaccine administration”
Is having a stepfather at the age of 6 weeks some kind of record?
That happened to a young couple just a block away when I was a kid. The mom fell asleep while nursing their newborn and apparently rolled over on the baby. Later they woke up to find their baby dead. Terrible news.
The press went with the info the family told the cops.
Nobody with any common sense bought the original story.
That said, what I’d like to know is whether or not this family was known to LE and/or CPS.
Almost happened to me.
I had two jobs, a toddler, and a newborn. I worked days and my husband worked nights.
I was so bone-tired, I literally fell asleep feeding the baby. I didn’t roll over, I pulled the blanket up.
Thankfully, my toddler came in, heard the baby fussing under the blanket, and woke me up. He saved his sibling’s life and my sanity.
I was so distraught over what could have happened, I never did that again. Every feeding time, my heart pounded so intently, I was wide awake and on alert.
1 Kings 3:19 And this woman's child died in the night; because she overlaid it.
I don't remember ever knowing that detail, but we all knew the story of King Solomon's Wisdom.
Six WEEK old ... STEPfather???
Something odd going on here.
Maybe the guy left her when he found out she was pregnant.
We used to call it crib death.
Indeed. People still struggle with family issues, rebellion, disfunction.
If the Bible didn’t address those issues, it would be irrelevant to the real suffering we experience in life.
It’s the genuine article.
The two women in the story were “harlots”, meaning that neither of them could probably identify the baby’s father, but the real mother was the one who would sacrifice her own claims to the child to prevent him from being killed.
A lot of odd things ...
Does not happen unless the adults are under the influence of some substance.
Baby is only 6 weeks old, and momma has a boyfriend? When did the changeover take place?
