Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that United States President Donald Trump wants a "speedy" settlement to the conflict in Ukraine after being asked about Trump's comments that Russian President Vladimir Putin is "playing with fire."
"It is clear that the American side, which is making considerable efforts for peaceful regulation, and President Trump personally, want a speedy settlement. And we repeat once again and are grateful for the mediation efforts of President Trump personally," Peskov said. "There is definitely a huge number of nuances in the context of what is to be discussed, which cannot be sacrificed. And which neither side will sacrifice, based on its national interests," he added, noting that Russia will continue its contacts with the US.

Facts on the ground.
Putin was dumb dumb dumb for insulting President Trump. What was he thinking?
So much humble pie from Putin and his motley crew of mongols today. What happened?
Has anyone communicated to the Russian government that our goal is to preserve as many Ukrainian and Russian lives as possible? All Lives.
Is the talk of Peace by DJT making you cranky?
Old horse-face Lavrov looked like he wanted to cry today. Too funny!
No it isnāt. We created and started the war. And now that it isnāt going well, weāre trying to salvage as much as we can for NATO and the EU and for us economically. Itās childish to think that DC cares about the lives being thrown into it.
“No it isnāt. We created and started the war.”
Thatās one perspective, but it overlooks key facts. This war began with Russiaās invasion of Ukraineālong before President Trump was in office. While global politics are always complex, itās important to recognize that President Trump is trying to end a war he didnāt start. Wanting to minimize the loss of life on all sides doesnāt mean ignoring strategic realitiesāit means valuing peace over prolonged conflict.

It's either that or Ukraine loses more territory or the whole country.
Kyiv in 3 days!
No... it’s reality. We charged up their front door. We launched a successful color revolution in Georgia. We launched failed ones in Kazakhstan 2022 and Belarus 2020, We launched a failed one in Moscow 2011, and we launched a successful one ending in a violent coup in Kiev in 2014.
Since Bush in 2007, we have been chest bumping them, saying we are bringing Ukraine into NATO. Our Proxy Azov Nazi Army was conducting ethnic cleansing in the Donbass.
Russia spent about a year begging us to negotiate and we flipped them the finger and told them NATO was none of their business.
We finally crossed an actual red line and they fought back. This war didn’t “start” when Russia rolled in in 2022.
And no... this is not about saving lives. This childish 30 day cease fire whining is us trying to improve our position politically and give us a clear space to work on rest and refit...maybe establish a No-Fly zone to our benefit.
It is like if Nazi Germany asked us for a 30 day cease fire in March of 1945. It’s a desperation move to take the heat off. Putin is rejecting it for the same reason we would have in 45. It locks in the things we want... NATO peacekeepers to flood in and embed with the Banderists, no ending of sanctions, and arming Ukraine to the teeth and propping up the Banderist nazi regime.
This is all about money and geo-political power. Nobody cares about lives. Certainly not in any meaningful way. If we cared about lives, we would demand Z step down, announce the withdrawal of all NATO from Ukraine, end the sanctions and sign the written promise.
