Suppose we walk away from Ukraine.

This is after Vietnam and Afghanistan.

No ally is going to ever trust us ever again.

Why should any ally trust us now? Secondly, Ukraine is not an ally. It is, however, one of the most corrupt nations in the world.

We just dislike them a little less than we dislike Russia.

Kind of like Iran-Iraq 1980.

Sure. If we allow Putin to ignore us after extending the olive branch to him other bad actors will give us a go and before too long we will no longer be feared and respected. We will see more bad actors testing us and more wars.
