Do Americans have any idea that Zelensky has declared war on Christianity in Ukraine? Vadym Novynskyi knows. He spent three terms in the Ukrainian parliament but now risks prison for defending his church.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
A GROK search shows he apparently has mixed involvement in the conflict. He has friendly relations with Russian Church leaders but has used a great amount of his own wealth (almost 1 billion UAH or 1/2 billion USD) in humanitarian aide for Ukraine; Ambulances, medical supplies, food etc.
His descriptions of Zelensky are anything but flattering. From persecution of the dominant church in Ukraine to currently being the prime impediment to peace negotiations.
I have a friend who married a Ukrainian woman. They have three daughters.
They tell me the “persecution” of churches in Ukraine is of the churches who have side with the Russians.
They are all devout Christians.

Exactly, Ukraine is a very Christian country and very tolerant of non-Orthodox denominations like Catholics and Protestants, unlike Russia, and also unlike Russia, Ukrainians go to church.
The Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) is doing great in Ukraine.
Ukraine is mostly Orthodox and has left the Russian government branch for the the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) — which has been recognized as Ukraine’s national church by the ecumenical patriarch of Constantinople.

Sorry about making it look you were saying that about all of Ukraine, you probably meant your friends that you were describing.
It's be analogous to us conservative Christians being against the "churches" that push the hedonism LGBTQWERY bull crap.
I have had a sneaking suspicion that the long US State Department Neocon effort to bring down Russia stems largely from Putin’s announcement some years ago that Russia is a Christian country.
(I’m not defending Putin or even saying he’s corect, but that statement seemed to be the proverbial waving a red shirt in front of a bull, at least to the US governing elites.)
What nonsense. As someone who is pro-Russian he is falsely identifying Christianity with the Russian Orthodox Church. Christianity is flourishing and is unimpeded in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Kyiv Patriarchate), the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the Roman Catholic Church and others. The reason the Russian Orthodox Church (i.e. the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate)) was singled out is it an arm the Russian state and was aiding Russia in the war. One could still protest that this should not have been done but it does not amount to an attempt to end Christianity in Ukraine. I am not, however, surprised that the Russians would make exaggerated claims. That is what they do.

Russia isn’t a Christian country, no one attends church there and the state church is a part of the government with the government building empty churches for it and the state church serves and works with the government and the government suppresses and harasses Christians outside of that government religion such as Catholics and Protestants, the people do their birth formalities and marriage formalities in the government church but don’t actually do Christianity.

This is exactly what I’ve heard from U.S. Christian missionaries in Ukraine who have worked freely and openly there for many years without any opposition from the Ukrainian government, including under Zelensky.
Cut off this little weaselly phony!
Allegations by innuendo. “Christianity” is not under threat by the government of Ukraine.
As I noted, I was not saying Putin was correct about Russia being a Christian country. Just saying such as thing seems to wanrrant a war of extermination in the Neocon mind, however.
Don’t know what that meant but I hope that the information in post 9 cleared it up about Christianity in Russia.
