Awaiting the flames lol.
But I care more about the well-being of any European country than I do for any African, Asian, or Middle Eastern country, for the simple reason that I am of European origin.
America First.
Europe Second.
The rest of the world somewhere behind those other two.
It’ll be like Afghanistan all over again to them.
I think there’s a concern Putin would move against the Baltic states or one of the other for Soviet bloc countries. But that’d involve NATO. Poland may not want the Bear on their doorstep in light of prior history.
FWIW, I agree with all of the posts here so far.
Ukraine wants the return of Crimea (out of the question) and the Donbas (almost equally unlikely).Neither of those things will happen. If you focus on the possible, it's easier to understand the solution.Russia says it wants the whole of Ukraine.
Watch out, Alberta.
Trump will be forced to show that he'll support NATO. And that means thousands of American troops to the Baltics.
Trump will no longer be able to criticize NATO. The Europeans will have the upper hand.
Zeeper Butthurt will be Infinite.
Nobody cares.🥱
Will you hold this position as Russian reconstitutes the USSR one country at a time?
There are two ways to look at this.
From a strategic point of view, it is none of our concern. Russian tanks will never roll into our country. But they could possibly roll into EU territory. But it’s not 1945 anymore. The EU is now rich enough to defend itself. So let them.
Now for the moral point of view. For decades NATO has provoked Russia. That could have been deliberate. Or it could have been inadvertent. But Putin overreacted by starting a terrible and bloody war.
Putin deserves to be condemned for that. But no more than Bush II deserves to be condemned for invading Iraq. Both men have innocent blood on their hands. I suspect both men will be judged harshly in the next life.
We’ll only have to deal with one lying sack of crap Commie instead of two.
If Russia does take the country, it will take a lot to pacify it, the hatred that exists between the population of Ukraine and Russia in many areas of the country will open a war of targeted attacks that will bleed Russia.
Many in Ukraine will not just surrender and accept Russian Control, they will continue to fight just not a conventional war, they will open up a guerilla or terrorist war of targeted assassinations, IEDs, bombings, etc.
It took the US virtually no time to take Iraq, what happened afterwards, one long slog of a counter insurgency, same for Afghanistan.
Russia couldn’t pacify Afghanistan and eventually pulled out, I predict if Russia takes Ukraine, the same thing will happen, the Russian people will eventually get tired of losing people and demand the war comes to an end.
Russia is just afraid that Sweden will, once again, send Vikings to reconquer and resettle Ukraine and eliminate the Russkies again...
This has to be the dumbest thing I’ve read on FR in a while.
I hope you paid the $10 Vanity tax.
There used to be talk about how Putin was like Hilter, and how Hitler invaded so many countries even before WWII broke out, and people saying how World War II would have been very different if Hitler had been stopped earlier.
Some people have said if Putin successfully conquers Ukraine, then based on the Hitler analogy, he would invade country after country until World War 3 breaks out.
I don’t know if people here believe this. Unless it happens, I don’t think we’ll ever know if Putin really wants to invade country after country.
Hindsight is always 20/20...
Seriously doubt they’ll go for all of Ukraine.
Remember that the former USSR had limited control over all of the eastern countries in Europe at one time. And they couldnt handle even those for even 50 years..actually, less than 30 if the time they physically partitioned it off is taken into account.
So Russia will go for everything east of the Dnipr as well as the Odessa region.
By then, there wont be enough manpower left of the Ukrainian military to even put down the protests and civil unrest that will happen as a result of the failure of the Ukrainian government.
And to think that in spring of 22 they could have retained just about all the country.
Learn a lesson you foriegners. Stay away from globalist.
