Especially brutal if you are 68 in a high salary band when budgets are being cut. I'm just going to retire.

Hopefully you laid up for retirement. My sympathies and prayers for all who need or desire paid employment.

Honorary Serb: yes indeed. My professor was famous. His name got me my first job offers - 4 total before I graduated. They were postdocs though not permanent positions.

I’ve been prepped to retire for many years. It was the fallback if another money squeeze occurred. It finally happened.
