@garysteveneaton
OK. If you’re really a fiscal hawk how about being the point man on codifying DOGE cuts?
@RandPaul
The DOGE cuts can only happen when POTUS sends Congress a “rescission” bill. By law this can only occur when POTUS sends Congress a bill and we can approve the cuts by simple majority. So far, POTUS has not sent Congress a “rescission” bill. In this particular case Congress is beholden to a directive from POTUS.
@RandPaul
For over a month rumors of a $9B rescission bill have circulated, comprised of $8B in foreign aid cuts and $1B in NPR cuts. But the bill never materialized supposedly because weak-kneed Republicans are threatening to vote no. ($9B is a rounding error, but a start) and yet GOP leadership seems under the spell of GOP big spenders.
@RandPaul
The Big Beautiful Bill raises the debt ceiling $5 trillion dollars (the Senate version). No Congress has ever approved a debt ceiling so large!
Interest on the debt now exceeds $1 trillion!
@RandPaul
The debate isn’t over faithfulness to President Trump, whom I admire and support. The debate is about the debt crisis that faces the country and will anyone be brave enough to stand athwart the tsunami of debt before it drowns us all.

Missed. Try again.
No. Direct hit. You went down. BYE.
I get it now: You're a CPS "graduate" aren't you? None of y'all have been able to read at grade level for decades.
Clearly you're stuck on stupid.
” have heard from people is Trump is more concerned about World Peace then the Voters who elected him”
A smear a minute, not an observation.
Observation: a remark, statement, or comment based on something one has seen, heard, or noticed.
What concrete incident are you basing your observation upon?
I think when you are on a dedicated, high stakes effort herding a group of cats you don’t have the next effort keyed up in the wings ready to launch. It is not reasonable to expect that to be the case. The Doge package is being codified. Doge findings/cuts need to be incorporated in the 2026 budget as well so we do have a timeline. Congress needs to do both the rescission & the budget by September.
Thank you for confirming your ignorance of the Federal Government, the Federal Reserve, your reading comprehension issue, and being a CPS Graduate. You're dismissed now.
Class is over.
Remember the House initially voted down the Big Beautiful Bill in committee, the various sides negotiated something that would pass and it did by ONE vote, all I’m saying instead of running to a microphone to declare I’m voting NO, negotiate and try to get something meaningful passed.
BTW, if Trump was that stubborn, nothing would have passed in the House.
The Trump tax ideas of No Tax on Tips, No Tax on Social Security and No Tax on Overtime, are 3 things that if enacted would have a big impact on who the middleclass supports in future elections, all 3 ideas directly impact the lives of average Americans, if taxes on the truly wealthy have to go up to get it passed it would be a win/win situation, because they’re millions more Americans who will have their taxes lowered than raised.
Has Rand rolled up his sleeves and whipped enough votes in the Senate?
That is the question.
Suggesting the Senate can change and actually getting the Senate to change are two vastly different things.
Thanks for nothing, Mike Lee.
The DOGE cuts can only happen when POTUS sends Congress a “rescission” bill.
We’ve seen how well that works out not so good
New rule to be a member of Congress one must have a MBA.
“The question now is why hasn’t Trump sent the Rescission Bill?”
@RandPaul
It is always a good idea to read the article.
ANOTHER CASE OF: THE PERFECT BEING THE ENEMY OF THE GOOD?
So why is Trump willing to raise the debt ceiling $5 trillion dollars?
“all rand paul does is run his mouth, ... “
Yep. He’s been there since 2010. And now he’s against Trump’s tariffs? China has been cheating our nation for decades and Rand sat on his ass? What has he proposed to offset the trade balance? Nothing. He’s had plenty of time to propose something. All he does is run his mouth.
I used to like Rand but I no longer have any use for him. Seems the only times he takes a stand is when standing up to republicans.
“The Big Beautiful Bill raises the debt ceiling $5 trillion dollars (the Senate version). No Congress has ever approved a debt ceiling so large!
Interest on the debt now exceeds $1 trillion!”
Yes, Rand.... but as you damned well know... this is the crap sandwich that we have been served by the radical leftist Democrats (and their helpers, the RINOs)... who have relentlessly attempted to destroy us from within for DECADES by overspending, throwing away and giving away taxpayer’s money and by importing invaders from every corner of the world. Funny, but I don’t recall you shouting out against Obama or OBiden this loudly, if at all.
Trump Team has only been in play for four months. If you expect and want miracles... where the hell were you during the Obama and OBiden years? (rhetorical question, considering)
“”The DOGE cuts can only happen when POTUS sends Congress a “rescission” bill. By law this can only occur when POTUS sends Congress a bill and we can approve the cuts by simple majority. Earth to Rand: But... it would be a really asininely stupid move.... to send Congress a bill that you know won’t pass, since... timing is everything... and the left (and you?) and their TDS, Trump-bashing media are slavering for anything they can use to make Trump look like a failure. But you know that, Rand. You’re just on a roll blaming Trump cause orange man bad, right Rand?
But the bill never materialized supposedly because weak-kneed Republicans are threatening to vote no.

So is Paul saying the reason Trump has not sent a Recission Bill is because he’s afraid week-kneed Republicans will say no?
Correct!
And so why? Why is the SALT provision still a part of this BBB?
A provision that would benefit rich people in Blue States?
The SALT provision is crap IMO, but the Republicans have a VERY slim majority in the House and a number of the Republicans are from Blue States like NY and CA, without them the bill doesn’t pass, it’s one of those things you have to swallow in order to get the good parts.
You could give them the SALT provision but raise the top bracket a couple of percentage points and eliminate the carried interest deduction and it would likely be awash.
