I was reading an article where some of the cars are hybreds now with a small battery installed. It was interesting with the various drivers talking about the pros and cons. Added weight and the balance of the car is different. But it really gives added power, but just for short intervals and then the battery is dead.
The drivers were saying how it adds to the mental calculus. Do you use it for a little boost throughout the last portion of the race to save on fuel, or save it for the very end and a big boost to pass or what?
Wow. I had no idea there was allowance for a variable of that nature.
