GILBERT, AZ — A man has been charged with second-degree murder for allegedly shooting and killing a landscaper hired to do work on a rental property.

Just after 4:30 p.m. Monday, Gilbert police were alerted about an argument between two men. While on the way to the location, near Power and Germann roads, officers were informed that a shooting had occurred.

Officials say when officers arrived, they located a victim, identified as 51-year-old Manuel Vega Lopez, with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The alleged shooter, identified as 28-year-old Wyatt Ford, was taken into custody by police.

According to a police report, just before the shooting, Ford's wife called police and reported her husband was outside confronting a man they believed was involved in a prior incident of attempting to steal from and vandalize their trailer.

"“kids” (early thirties to forties) moving out of parents home for the FIRST time with parents arranging it—ZERO rental history."

I'd take those as tenants as long as the parents guaranteed the rent and had a good credit history. And adequate deposits were in place.

The only qualification required to be a ‘journalist’ today is to hate Trump... and write for those who give out prizes, rather than for the readers and citizens of the city served...

“Renter accused of killing landscaper hired by landlord charged with second-degree murder”

Who did the killing and who did the hiring, if the killer was “hired”

Who was charged?

Decades of simple observation indicates that one of the primary goals of tenants ‘rights’ has been to impoverish and destroy the un-connected, little-people landlords.

No shortage of entitled, deadbeat renters-in-name-only to unwittingly move the process along.

Well, I'd do homework on the time it takes to get evictions from the local judges, and the cost of getting the eviction. Per AI, it can take up to a year in New York State.

How do you get information for “3. drama laded with baby daddy drama/police calls”. Isn’t this private information? How do you have access to it?

"Headline quality continues to decline."

And how! Renter killed the landscaper, but the landlord was the one charged with 2nd degree murder.

That’s not enough protection in blue, militantly pro tenant states.
Anybody who guarantors for someone needs to have a min credit score of 720, own their own home locally, have garnishable income AKA not social security, and be willing to go through a background check and be placed on the lease as an actual tenant.
That usually sends them packing as it is most likely a case of a terrible kidult that mommy and daddy want out of their house finally.

Oh yeah in my state which is upstate New York and many other places such as California you can only accept one month security deposit. No exceptions. If they catch you calling it anything else like a move-in fee to collect more than one month’s rent you will be in trouble with Tish James.
