Coca Cola & PepsiCo affiliated soft drinks contain pure cane sugar instead of HFCS.

Even before Trump, sugar has had tariifs in the U.S., so imported sugar is taxed, but (until now) imported soda from Mexico, not so much, which is a main reason why Mexican Coke usually has real sugar.

The U.S. has lots of corn, and incentives to use it. HCFS is liquid, which makes mixing and transporting more straightforward.

Seems like sugar could be handled as a liquid too if it were dissolved in water.
