It all comes down to Europe’s political will, and they may soon discover that if China becomes increasingly problematic for us then Europe may have no choice. But as with everything, replacing or building something its always easier said than done and usually costs well more than what was estimated.

“costs well more than what was estimated.”

Unless it’s US Federal government, then it is “Way more than Estimated”.

I don’t think Russia is the enemy. Russia believes we are the enemy, and has acted so before the end of WWII under Stalin. Russia should just stop invading it’s neighbors and use it’s national resources to become so wealthy it gets tired of ‘winning’. The invasions of it’s neighbors have become the biggest factor in it’s ongoing economic and political problems. How many of those invasions look wise now? I don’t understand why NATO continues to provoke Russia, especially after 1991, by accepting more and more former eastern block nations, some of which don’t have Atlantic coastline.

They’re just dialing that back for now because a few zeepers got a time-out for yapping their insults along the lines of “Donald Chamberlain” and other such nasty, Democrat tripe.

Yes, the Ukie ankle-biters have to keep it hidden.

"It’s inevitable, IMHO, that if peace cannot be made the US will be involved."

The US may be involved in some way, but not in a direct fight with Russia. If you recall, Trump wanted us out of the war in Aftgan due to his solid anti-war stance. He even negotiated with the Taliban and they agreed to his terms. He had a date for a peaceful withdrawal and told them if they harm one American or ally, they would encounter "destruction like the never seen before." ... or words to that affect.

As we know, Biteme moved the withdrawal to an earlier date and the Taliban rightfully recognized that to be a broken agreement. We all saw the result on live TV the cluster fuck at Kabul airport.

I'm not sure why Biteme broke the time-line, but suspect it was only because Trump found a way out of the Aftgan mess and Biteme has TDS.

Point is, President Trump does NOT want full on war with anyone. So what if we bomb the Houthis? They are nothing more than pirates breaking international maritime law.

My position: Destroy all of Iran's nuke facilities and the Mullahs. Do you have any idea of how relieved the other ME nations would be? I know. Once the Mullahs are gone, there are a number of ME nations just itching to join the Abraham Accords.

"On September 15, 2020, leaders across the Middle East signed the Abraham Accords. This landmark agreement normalized diplomatic relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, then later a renewal in ties with Morocco." So far so good.

“Because Trump would never have allowed Ukraine to provoke Russia like they did with their incessant bombing in Donbas, and their military buildup in the East.”

Are you referring to the bombing of the Russian invaders?

Trump is anti war. I agree. Continued in its present form, the war could outlast Trump. IMHO, that’s what is going to happen. The US will eventually be dragged into it, and Trump has to know that. He will try to end it during his time.
