The Stockholm City Council has rejected the US embassy's demands that it roll back diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies at the behest of the Trump administration.
In his inauguration speech, US President Donald Trump vowed to end what he sweepingly but vaguely called efforts to “socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life”.
This has translated into attempts to eliminate programmes in the United States that seek to encourage diversity and equality in education, the work force and beyond.
In an email to the city's planning office dated April 29, the US embassy asked that Stockholm officials sign a document promising that contractors would not operate any programmes promoting DEI that would violate current US law.
“It’s so bizarre,” Jan Valeskog, Stockholm’s vice-mayor for city planning, told the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter on Tuesday.
The city council said Friday that it would not comply with the embassy's demands or offer an official response.
“We were really surprised, of course,” Valeskog told The Associated Press.
“We will not sign this document at all, of course not.”

Diversity has worked so well in Sweden, I don’t blame them. I thought Sweden was a morose place when I visited there. It didn’t appear to have a soul. Now they’re giving their country up without a fight.
They are in need of street cleaners.

Why did they listen to the insane elites who told them it was their obligation take in migration from Muslim North Africa?

They are supposed to want gay rights, women’s rights and reject religious intolerance (of Christians).
So they bring in millions of religious fanatics who murder gays, rape and enslave women.
And they want us all to support “the government” so they bring in a group of subversive.

And why Muslim North Africa? If you want to be fair to the world’s “migrants” wouldn’t everywhere become Chinese and Indian?

Sometimes I curse the fact that the Internet was invented at all. It does seem that the pu$$ification of society began with its advent.
That’s how I see it. Let’s get our own house in order regarding this crap before we try to fix someone else’s.
Sweden was the cleanest and most modern place when I visited there in January 1969. Now I am skipping any more visits there.

Nah, two sides of the same coin. Every form of tolerance, diversity, etc led Sweden to its suicide.
Encourage DEI? If only that were true, rather than the actual requirement.
