On the ground report, by myself. At least 2 tornados. The one that went over me at Richmond Heights, then hit the North end of Clayton hard on the ground then went north and east. Then there is all sorts of direct damage hits over in the Forest Park area, roofs, trees, windows, brick structures. The NWS will call it what they may. But based on the distance on a northward front. 5 miles apart. We got a two for, which never happens in St Louis. They always go to the South West. I went outside to watch it. Wisconsin farm kid thing. It went directly over me. I was on Brentwood at the time and it was not officially on the ground. OK

Prayers up - been through a tornado and it’s incredible what they can do - but I think I would have left out the “...video of an angry twister...” sentence...

We were getting severe thunderstorms here about 60 miles away and so we were watching the TV weather, which had cut into the normal programming.

The weathermen could tell from the radar that a tornado was forming and had pinpointed the location and urged people to take shelter.

But it was past midnight, and many had probably just gone to bed thinking it was just another thunderstorm.
