Hundreds of Starbucks baristas have walked out of stores in protest of a new dress code policy, which the union, Starbucks Workers United, claims was implemented without proper bargaining.
Yes FReepers you read that correctly...A DRESS CODE.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Excellent!
Whatever will those spoiled brats do!
Very.
I hope a lot of uniforms and dress codes come back, that includes some sort of uniformity among hospital staff of various categories, and schools most certainly.
Bought my own espresso machine!
Much better Cappuccinos with no liberal B.S.

I would be nice to have nurses dress in white crisp clean uniforms again. Now they are so slovenly looking — like they literally just dragged themselves out of bed.
I go to Starbucks daily (purely due to convenience and habit NOT because I think the coffee is the best or anything) and I like some of the changes taking place of late. Even though I got very comfortable doing mobile orders, I can tell the company is trying to re-prioritize the in person, in store pre-Covid experience of late.
The next time I am in Starbucks, I might take the opportunity to educate the baristas about the issues that used to cause workers to strike. Making froo-froo coffee drinks isn’t exactly like going into the bowels of the earth to mine coal.
Schools badly need uniforms and single sex schools
I wore a uniform for 30 years and was proud of it. Of course a military vet is a bit different than a spoiled brat working at Starbucks.
Strike-Wages si. Shirts? No!
People can survive without Starbucks coffee. They will realize this soon.
White uniforms are hard and costly to keep looking good, with today’s cleanliness protocols and the volume needed.
Covid baristas were at one time hired for engaging personalities and had followings.
My daughter worked for a couple of years with them. Customers would key in on a barista and visit sometimes several times a day. These pseudocommunity relationships were important to the customers and seemed real to them.
My daughter received 4 Thanksgiving invitations from customers one year. She was shocked how the customers could not fathom that she had a personal life that not Starbucks.
Every nurse I knew was clean and immaculate in her whites.

I agree! I remember the days of white uniforms and caps. Bring them back.
Having a job is a privilege, not a right.
