Send 40 million illegals home and suddenly Medicaid won’t be nearly as expensive.
I think you might have meant Medicare. However you make a good point. No matter the facts all people will hear “They are killing the most vulnerable!” Also the “cuts” will be used as a pro abortion talking point. “Abortion is needed because Medicaid cuts mean childbirth is no longer an affordable option.”
Is cutting fraud and making able bodied adults work a good idea, yes. But the Republicans lost the propaganda war. And the reality is no matter how reasonable any changes to the Medicaid budget are we will lose Congress if they are seen as targeting the poor for the benefit of the rich.
It’s a big government, there must be other places to pull waste and fraud from.
The GOP’s refusal to get serious, fight, and get their 💩 together is precisely why I left that worthless cuck party 4 years ago to simply be an independent conservative.
I can live with what Chip Roy is asking.
Their defenders will say “but but but 60 votes in the Senate! We don’t have 60!”
I reply “that would not stop the Democrats from ramming it through or changing the rules”
They always forget the filibuster is not in the constitution and can be changed by a simple majority.
Yes, but deporting them cuts them off, and saves face politically.
What is stopping them? Simple THEIR DONORS!!
1) Most Medicaid goes to doctors, hospitals, not to poor people.
2) Second most Medicaid goes to Accenture, DeLoitte and thousands of big and small consulting firms and consultants, to to poor people.
3) 5% of what consultants work on might benefit poor people, might have useful reason to exist.
95% is consultants benefitting their fellow consultants.
In some cases, double agents may be turned by the opposing side through methods such as threats which can force them to mislead their original handlers. This can lead to. The creation of re-doubled agents, who reverse their allegiances due to being compromised.
#1 politicians can’t run for reelection if no balanced budget in place.
#2 all raises for politicians must be voted on by the people.
According to an analysis by the Center for American Progress, nearly 40% of the 435 U.S. congressional districts, or approximately 174 districts, have hosted at least one announced clean energy or manufacturing project funded by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) as of December 2023. This includes both Republican- and Democratic-represented districts, with a significant portion—around 57% of the 211,000 jobs announced—located in Republican-held districts.
Pork barrel spending is killing the USA and this is a prime example. No matter how awful the "Green New Scam" is, congressmen are bringing home the pork to get re-elected.
We need term limits. Maybe "One and done" is called for.
The D.C. power center with its glad-handing cocktail parties, the Congressman who quickly adopt an attitude of "Me above all else," and armies of lobbyists is the root of all our ills.
So the president can say he didn't cut medicaid.
Yes indeed, but what jobs are these idiots capable of doing? Many would probably screw up sweeping floors. Guess someone with a IQ of 40 could show them how.
Ram it trough again and again, and when Demonrats refuse to go along, accuse them of wanting no balanced budget and want to increase the debt.
Demonrats are all about accusing the stupid party (republicans) for all they do. Accuse , accuse, accuse, that is all they do. Stand firm and flip it back in the Demonrat’s face. Wishful thinking but it would work. At some point the dinosaur press would have to cave and cover it. I will not hold my breath, it’s not called the stupid for nothing.
If they cannot lower that bloated pig by a trillion they are not really trying.
Hard to do when republicans want to raise the debt limit five trillion.
“I will not insult your intelligence by suggesting that you believe what you just wrote.” - paraphrasing William Buckley
We were lied to, there will be no Social Security tax cuts. I’ve heard of a 4000 dollar reduction in income taxable, but that amounts to squat in tax reduction
Answer: Being spineless.
I need to know what it means when they say cuts for medicaid. I have an 80 year old mother. What does that mean for her?
