The picture Zelenskyy presents of Donald Tusk (Poland), Zelenskyy, Emmanuel Macron (France), Keir Starmer (UK) and Friedrich Merz (Germany), represents his “coalition of the willing.” The group who has pledged to send troops to Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping coalition, as long as the USA military backstops their presence against Russia.

If President Trump does not agree to position U.S. military as part of the coalition, then the “willingness” changes. Hence, Friedrich Merz says “we must maintain good relations with the United States.”

Zelensky/NATO still withhold peace negotiations unless the United States promises to serve as a 'backstop'; they still want to get the US into a hot war with Russia so they need American boots on the ground. They've been told 'no' already, but they are still are trying. Hegseth was 100% clear on this as well, but still they are trying to get the US to fight their war for them.'No' means no!

Trump basically did just that - he said that the only way the war ends is when he and Putin meet and make come up with a final peace plan. In other words, Zelensky, and for that matter the European leaders and the Neocons are simply NOT NEEDED - after all, they’re the ones who started the war, and now it’s up to the ADULTS (Trump and Putin) to put an end to it...at least according to Trump.

I see pretty much no evidence that both Putin and Zelensky care if this war goes on indefinitely. Very hard to understand (for me) Neither one of them displays any motivation to end the war that I can see.

The amen chorus is in full voice on this thread.

The day Trump takes credit for European nations uniting and spending up to 5% on defense, the amen chorus will execute wonderful backflips. The chorus would scarcely miss a beat if Trump's next stated an intention to increase sanctions against Russia, or even uttered a possible statement of coordination with (redeemed) European " allies" to back them up in a peacekeeping mission.

All of this has little or nothing to do with Zelinski, who was Winston Churchill a short time ago but who is now the devil incarnate, nor does it have much to do with facts on the ground on the battlefield in Ukraine, whatever they are, it has only to do with the the cult.

Trump needs every ounce of support we can muster for 90% of his actions domestically and abroad. If he fails to steer us through our debt crisis, for example, we are finished as a capitalist economy and a functioning representative democracy. But support is not mindless, reflexive obeisance; above all, we who support Trump must do so on the merits in each given case. We are, after all, conservatives, not Kool-Aid drinkers.
