CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) -A chaotic arrest was carried out by immigration officers Thursday outside the Mecklenburg County Courthouse.
On Thursday, May 15, officers with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, or ICE, chased a man across the lawn of the courthouse, across 3rd Street, and into a duck pond in nearby Marshall Park.
WBTV recorded what happened next. The video shows multiple officers surrounding the man as he stands waist-deep in the water.
Moments later, an officer in blue tackles the man into the pond, where he is handcuffed and led away to a waiting vehicle.
WBTV’s Jason Puckett was at the courthouse when the arrest happened. He saw officers chase the man into the pond.
Those officers later told WBTV that they were immigration officers, and displayed Customs and Border Protection badges.

God bless ICE
...chased outside a courthouse.
Another illegal spirited out of the courthouse to avoid ICE?
Yes and got Baptized by ICE in the pond.
Need a pic of the tats.
I heard of baptism by fire but not by ICE!
If this would’ve happened in the dead of winter, he could’ve skated.
Well done
That's the way you do it!
Running for nothin' and your handcuff clicks for free.
Where are the fat ugly female Democrat judges to show them the way out?
Wet-Back 😁
Sounds like the sheriff is the enemy and I don’t blame them for not telling him.
Mojado
Just when you thought you had a crap week, this is a nice way to end it.
If this is the sheriff of Mecklenburg County, one of the most liberal areas in North Carolina, he is most definitely a lefty.
