NBC: Sen. Ron Johnson is a 'NO' on the Big Beautiful Bill

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., came out against the emerging House legislation this week, saying it will explode the U.S. budget deficit.

“I don’t see any scenario where it’s going to be deficit-neutral. That’s my problem,” he told NBC News. “By my calculation, this is going to increase the deficit by $4 trillion.”

“The amount that they’re looking to reduce spending is about 1.3%. It’s a rounding error. It’s completely inadequate,” Johnson said as he insists federal spending be at least lowered to pre-pandemic levels.

Republicans have 53 senators, meaning they can only lose three votes before the bill collapses int he chamber, as they have no hope of winning Democrats. They’ve already lost Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who wants steeper cuts.

Johnson is one of the few good ones. A victory on this bill would be pyrrhic.

He says it will “explode the budget deficit,” our whole government is running on debt. This is like getting a new credit card to pay off the old credit card. Trumps budget eliminates the new credit card. We have to start paying off the debt.

Back to Trump's first term.

Before Biden took over the presidency.

There are trillions of dollars under contract with foreign nations that not only cut the trade deficit, but can create and supply money to a budget that many, like Johnson, are figuring from the past. For the first time in a long time we are working with actual incoming cash for the economy and not to keep our heads above water trying to not give away more than we can afford to lose. Gift horse/mouth.

Why don’t they ever do anything for the voters?

That's exactly what the Senators who oppose massive deficit spending are doing.

Ron Johnson must be ignorant of the fact that whatever the taxpayer saves after taxes gets invested into efforts that creates jobs. Even if it’s a savings account in a bank. That money is used by the banks to lend money to those who put it into the hands of those who create new wealth and jobs.

If he’s that ignorant, he’s in the wrong job.

Should be something he can do well, like being a mailman.

This could be 50/50 in the Senate folks

If they can get Fetterman of PA to vote for it

That at least cancels out Ron Johnson.

It’s very ,very tight...
