ICE just raided the largest mass planned housing development in America and questioned over 300 people, making 33 arrests while dozens apparently fled the scene in panic. Activists say illegal immigrants represent a major backbone of the US labor market, but proponents of these raids say unemployed Americans might now be able to find a job. 33 people were detained and "dozens" fled the scene. Some estimate the true number of illegal workers to be much higher as ICE reportedly recieved a large number of complaints before the raid took place.

For a very long time.
Estimates are 20-23% of California’s construction workers are undocumented. There’s going to be booming demand for legal workers.
Hunger is a GREAT motivator.
I’ve been screaming this, for years....
Cut off the welfare and freebies for those who are able to work.
They’ll be looking for jobs in no time.
I do not understand why ILLEGAL INVADERS are given welfare/freebies, but, that’s another topic for another day.
I’d say estimates in TX are 50-60% of construction workers are undocumented.
Hop to it!! Be first in line for the open jobs tomorrow morning!
One problem is American young people don't know how to get a job. If it doesn't involve an "app" they are lost. Knocking on doors of businesses and contractors, works. Asking if they need help will get you a job. Heck, they would be totally amazed that a young person had the gumption to do that.
Beware. Illegals who can’t even read, write much less use measuring tool puts the new homeowners lives in danger of homes collapsing.
Personally, based on what I’ve seen, I think the number in CA is FAR higher than 20-23%. My office about 15 years ago was adjacent to a huge condominium construction site and it looked like 100% of the workforce was minority, mostly Mexican (but probably other Central American workers, too). How many are illegals? Half?
They are criminals by definition.
Thank goodness our house was built decades ago, before the massive influx! I think our builder had been using the same crews for decades before that! Cabinet maker, electrician, framers, millwork guy, etc.
I would definitely be leery of buying a tract home, ever, but...especially now.
Look at the percentage of illegals, in CA, and, that will get you closer to the actual number of illegal workers.
A major problem is the disability rules.
It's all or nothing.
If they make any money, their disability and medical benefits are taken away.
We need a system with a sliding scale to enable folks to get partially or completely off the system but back on if needed.
A friend has written a book which we think will sell well, but if he publishes it and gains income he will lose all of his income and medical benefits.
He has medical problems that make it hard to get insurance.
He might survive a year or so from book sales, but then what does he do if he has been kicked off?
Getting back on can be a daunting task.
Yes, but politics. A Trump constituent, small businesses will be affected. Don’t worry, they don’t seem to be listening. *Some* of these illegals are better than most democrat scum.
Doin just fine working for Mrs cport at the firm. I get paid and laid by the same person. Don’t need to swing a hammer.
I can say for me, the midterms I will vote for someone other than rino Graham. I’d rather have a sworn enemy, than a backstabbing friend.
existential threat of open border
vs
food delivery
hmm...what to do...what to do
Please let me rephrase your post for you -
“I am more than willing to wait longer for my food delivery so as not to support illegal migrants”...

GMTA.
Florida, where State police are fully authorized to enforce Federal immigration law. Thank you, Gov. DeSantis.
