ICE just raided the largest mass planned housing development in America and questioned over 300 people, making 33 arrests while dozens apparently fled the scene in panic. Activists say illegal immigrants represent a major backbone of the US labor market, but proponents of these raids say unemployed Americans might now be able to find a job. 33 people were detained and "dozens" fled the scene. Some estimate the true number of illegal workers to be much higher as ICE reportedly recieved a large number of complaints before the raid took place.

The employer and owner of the site need to go to prison.

It’s a homebuilder. In a new build neighborhood. Happening all across the country.

I think both sides may be right on that, unfortunately.

99% of my Food and grocery deliveries are made by “migrants” and I often wondered what if they all were deported today, would that 15 minute time wait for the delivery become 1 or more hours?

It’s hard to find workers. It really does seem like there are more jobs than people in this country.

But does that justify supporting lawbreakers who illegally enter this country? Absolutely NOT.

I agree. In this video one guy is complaining that it’s going to take longer to get his house built because ICE arrested the workers.

Someone call a WHAAAMBULANCE.

The working illegal, with no criminal record, not leaching off of the government should be the last to go. It will do less damage to the economy. Get the welfare tourists and criminals first. They can always deport them after they get the rest.

I think many on disability could deliver groceries (or similar not too strenuous job), even just part time. Plenty of US Citizens could be working in some capacity that are not. Too many want to live a “life of leisure”, as I have heard some call it, while collecting disability.

If you hire an independent contractor, is it your job to determine their citizenship?

They probably aren’t even paying taxes.

Yup it’s an internal problem that cannot be fixed by importing people from the outside. Those coming in will see how it works and they too will choose that “life of leisure” on the taxpayers back.

Illegals must be deported even if it means we all become farmers as a second job to eat.

The comments are the you tube link read like FR.

Not ONE comment defending either the illegals or their employers. Overwhelmingly supporting harsh penalties for hiring illegals.

There’s LOTS of anger out there about illegals. Methinks that perhaps, if Trump can accomplish much, the midterms might be in the bag for the republicans, unless they stupidly throw it away.

People WANT this.

Growing up, I knew a good number of families that were generational welfare recipients, though I did not know that term at a young age. FEDGOV being their nanny is all they know and they plan for ways to stay on the gravy train. Makes one wonder how difficult it will be to break them of that cycle.

“Migrants?” “Migrants?” I think that word doesn’t mean what some people thinks it means. Lets see if they are actually “migrants,” or are just simply aliens who are here illegally and only temporarily.

Then after making good faith efforts to hire Americans and cutting all the free lunch perks for deadbeats, start a NEW guest worker program of people who are very thoroughly properly vetted.

Or reserve the jobs for those legal immigrants who are applying for entry into this country lawfully and help them become gainfully employed so as to be as little a drain on our resources as possible.

I have a decent size garden and while I am grateful that our survival doesn't depend on it, it provides us with lots of good, fresh, pesticide and herbicide free, food. It's great for supplementing our diet and budget.

And it's great exercise.. More people need to step away from the screen and get outside and get some fresh air, sunshine, and exercise.

There’s more payments for those that don’t want to work available today. Shut the spigot and BINGO! People go to work!

The owner should be prosecuted for knowingly hiring illegals as one knows he didn’t hire them out of the goodness of his heart. He did so, to avoid having to pay them a fair wage which undercuts any honest business competitor. Deport the illegals and Americans should re-enter the workforce for honest wages for their labor.
