Night of the Living Dead, the horror classic that birthed the modern zombie genre, is getting a reboot, and writer LaToya Morgan has now confirmed that the screenplay is complete. With rising filmmaker Nikyatu Jusu attached to direct, the project is one of the most anticipated horror reimaginings in recent memory. Originally released in 1968 and directed by the legendary godfather of zombies, George A. Romero, Night of the Living Dead broke ground for its depiction of a zombie outbreak. Now, more than five decades later, this new sequel, which seeks to restart the franchise, promises to carry that legacy forward

The only way for the characters to escape from the Zombies will be to climb on the hood of a Dodge Charger and “twerk they asses”. The Zombies will just stumble on past without attacking them while they are doing that.
“I’m coming to get you, Barbara” is one of the great lines in all of cinema.
Glad you mentioned Train to Busan. I just recently watched it for the first time. Definitely a “must see” if you’re a fan of the genre.
Richard Pryor did something similar referring to why there weren’t any black people in, “The Exorcist.”
Hilarious, but VERY adult.
I can only post that he said the movie would have been about ten minutes long.

One of the greatest SNL Skits ever, with Richard Pryor

No. It will be Negro heroes, white zombies.
Kind of like Lovecraft Country, which I did not see, but which I understand is about a black family in the 1950s, who moves into a scary small town full of monstrous white people.
I suppose it was inspired by Get Out, which is about a black man who stumbles upon an evil white conspiracy to take over the bodies of black people.
“Well pretty much the scariest movie I ever saw. Saw it first at a local movie theater in the early 70’s, scared the hell out of me”
ditto ... saw it at a drive-in in the 70’s in a carload of siblings and cousins, a few of whom we snuck in via the trunk ... we were all smoking pot and got so scared that we all voted to vamoose pretty much as soon as the dead started rising and walking from their graves ...
Damn of the Dead was even better. I saw it at the theater in 1978.
There are so many zombie movies and TV shows, it is going to be hard to make something good and interesting that we haven’t already seen a hundred times before...
Well, it is going to suck. I can vouch for that now...
The first half of that movie sucked hard. Boring as hell, when they got to the bar in Mexico, it got better...
I am SO sick of zombies and vampires...
I was amazing, funny, scary, and the political-scientific commentary on TV by the talking heads was remarkable.
If those Two are really the writer and director then Hollywood has learned nothing in the last few years.
Did you mean DAWN of the Dead? Ken Foree? David Emge?
They are....
LaToya Morgan - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1487597/
Nikyatu Jusu - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2762302/
One of Ms. Jusu’s previous pictures was the 2007 film called “African Booty Scratcher”. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1215453/?ref_=nm_knf_t_2
It was a deeply profound think piece.
Yes good catch. Dawn of the Dead.
I looked up Damn of the Dead on IMDB and found nothing. Figured it was a typo. Damn good movie, though. I have the collector’s set (4 disk Ultimate Version) that has all versions and documentaries, along with a video of Ken Foree giving a tour of the Monroeville Mall with a group of fans.
