Austin, TX psych-sludge act Lord Buffalo have been forced to cancel their upcoming European tour after drummer Yamal Said was detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Monday, May 12th at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
The band explained that Said, a Mexican citizen and U.S. green card holder, was forcibly removed from the flight while attempting to travel to Europe. The exact circumstances of the detainment remain unclear, but the band confirmed that the situation has made it impossible to continue with the planned tour. The Austin Chronicle reports that Said has lived in Austin, TX since the 80s, when his parents migrated to the United States.
A full statement from the band is expected, but as of now, all upcoming European dates are canceled.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Unless there is something more going on than just his immigration status.
I thought green card holders weren’t allowed to travel outside the US.
Considering the band he is in, I suspect there are some arrests that are now flagged and he is looking at going back to Mexico...
You need to present a passport from your country of citizenship to travel in/out of the country.
The issue is presumably he has no visa for the EU.
He was leaving... seems cheaper and easier to deny him re-entry when the band comes back.
And for clarity, you can leave and enter the US freely.
But the other country has to accept the passport of your country of citizenship.
Our parents won WWII to the melodies of Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman.
Thanks
Probably something I saw on TV
The choice of words was “migrated” instead of immigrated.
I would take that as his parents being mojados the crossed the Rio Grande other than legally.
Suspect the subject of the story has had some arrest in his past and now he gets to tour in Mexico.
Maybe USCBP did Europe a favor by not having to listen to that crap.
“Psych sludge” sounds like it should be an arrestable offense.
Permanent residents are free to travel outside the United States, and temporary or brief travel usually does not affect your permanent resident status. If it is determined, however, that you did not intend to make the United States your permanent home, you will be found to have abandoned your permanent resident status.
I am not sure why you thought that, but it's not true.
One of the main advantages of having a Green Card is you can leave and return pretty much at will. You are not supposed to leave for more than six months at a time.
If you really need to you can get a travel permit if you need to stay outside the USA for longer, due to something like a family illness.
I have deep experience with this, I'm not guessing.
