Trump: Pretty good news expected on Russia, Ukraine

United States President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he expects some "pretty good news" on the war in Ukraine soon.

During a meeting with Qatar's Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Trump thanked the Arab country for its peace efforts, noting Doha was "very much involved in helping us in other regions," like Ukraine. "I think we're having some pretty good news coming out of there today, and maybe tomorrow, and maybe Friday, frankly," the US president stated.

The comments come ahead of expected talks in Istanbul on Thursday between Moscow and Kiev. It is still unclear if the talks will take place as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky insisted he will only talk to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and not lower-ranked officials, while Russia is yet to confirm whom it will send to Turkey. Trump claimed that Putin is more likely to show up if he does as well, but didn't confirm his attendance.

Understandable and reasonable but at some point, somebody needs to minimally trust somebody else or nothing will ever move forward.

From day one, trust has never been possible.

The only way this can work is a pro-Russia government in Kiev. But that government must be made up of Ukraine citizens, and my thinking has been that the way that happens is with senior military officers, who attended University and military schools in Russia. They are the best people to make up such a government. They likely retained friendships of decades with senior Russian military. They are the only people who the Russians could trust.

Such a government could be purely technocratic and expected only to keep the trans running on time and the lights turned on. No political positions on anything. All Western espionage services executed. No problem with guerilla warfare because they are Ukraine citizens.

The Russians might trust them because their own senior military would be urging them to do so.

A few years of the trains running on time and the lights staying on and Gazprom keeping them warm in winter and a few refugees may start to trickle back home.

There is entirely too much talk about the destruction of Ukraine, or sometimes it is phrased as wiping out Ukraine or maybe even the death of Ukraine. Ukraine is mostly dirt. You plant seeds in it and things grow. No, that is not metaphor.
That is literal and isn’t going to change as long as the soil is not irradiated. The only thing really at risk is maybe a hundred people running things. Replacing them is small potatoes in the context of multi-millenia history of mankind.

Good guys or bad guys don’t really stand the test of time. The Mongol hordes with their vast empire were never good guys. Ruthless and brutal. History doesn’t care. History draws lines on a map as to how far they extended Westward until super duper emperor back home died and that civilization’s customs required all faction leaders to return to vote and choose a new one. Being bad guys did not stop their expansion. Happenstance stopped their expansion.

The only way this can work is a pro-Russia government in Kiev.

For approximately the last ten out of the previous thousand years we have seen what happens when Western Intelligence Agencies and groups under the control of George Soros manage to get a group of corrupt individuals beholden to them into positions of power in Ukraine.

This type of situation is not new. The same types of tactics have been used in other parts of the world by the same groups to forward destructive policies which advance leftist agendas, violence and the breakdown of traditional societies. The results are predictable and the misery and destruction that they produce eventually generates push back when people finally start to realize that the changes have not been positive for themselves or any parts of society who are not the recipients of the grift and ill-gotten gain.

But once they have achieved power these people scream like stuck pigs pretending that they are the “guardians of democracy and freedom". This is especially the case in places like Ukraine where voting has been suspended indefinitely and foreign influence not the Democratic process brought them into power.

I am not sympathetic to the Putin regime or the very long history of Russian domination in this area. But anyone who has any sense can easily see that the people of Ukraine have paid a very heavy price for the botched foreign policy initiatives of the West. The goal of those who orchestrated the current situation never had anything to do with the wellbeing of those living in the area. Just like Soros had no interest in the people who live in parts of the United States who now have District Attorneys who selectively prosecute conservatives while letting violent criminals roam free.

Ukraine actually provides so many examples of just how bad foreign influence even from those who supposedly represent the best interests of “Democratic” Western governments can actually be. All one has to do is look at the stark contrast between the situation before the current Western leaning government took over in Ukraine from the Russian leaning government in Ukraine. Did things get better in any measurable way? This answer is yes for some individuals such as those who like to adorn their bodies with Nazi tattoos and kill others who disagree with them. And corrupt officials and businesspeople such as those who hired Hunter Biden prospered from the flow of money from Western governments. And I am sure that homosexuals and people who enjoy a deviant lifestyle felt much more comfortable with a comedian known for his routine playing the piano with his erect penis becoming “president”. So, there were some bright spots for some people.

Unfortunately, this botched foreign policy gamble which was orchestrated in a calculated way to provoke conflict with Russian to cause regime change has not turned out well for the vast majority of the Ukrainian people. Their counties infrastructure has been trashed, millions have become refugees, the number who have been killed or maimed has become a carefully hidden state secret. Other than word of mouth the only abundant information available to the people in Ukraine is state sponsored propaganda. And no one now has any idea what the future holds for them or their families.

It is a very sad situation as compared to a little more than ten years ago when a corrupt Russian leaning government was still in charge. The US and Western Europe have mostly borrowed and spent who knows how many $Hundreds of Billions of dollars which have accomplished nothing other than empowering or enrichening a few but mostly creating death, misery, and a completely uncertain future for the vast majority.

On this forum it has allowed us to identify those who are the most vulnerable to various forms of propaganda. They continue virtue signaling and buying into the nonsense that our media spoon feeds them even when the outcome is not going to be positive any time in the near future. It is a little embarrassing in many cases but does provide a form of tragic comedy.
