With the digital currency, every gasoline purchase, heck, every Uber ride is counted towards your carbon allotment. Everything in the home will be connected to your allotment. Charge your EV too much, too often. They will know. Stay up late at night with the lights on? No Bueno
I can just see the Brave New World where there are daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and yes, lifetime Carbon allotments. If you splurge one week, it will count towards your annual allotment, and you will have to cut back. If you really splurge and reach your lifetime allotment..... Oh, well.
