Looking forward to The Five this afternoon on FOX, and hoping Harold Ford is on. I wonder if he will eat his words concerning his take on the tariffs.

Ford is just plain dumb.
Harold is the designated Democrat Foil and frankly, I like him as he is sort of the democrat of old. Still to the left, but not anti-american. Frankly, I think he is happy to have a gig and works it to his benefit. He also has a sense of humor and takes Greg’s digs with the humor that it is...
I like Harold as a person (though I disagree with his positions). But he is trying so hard to look presidential that he’s becoming a real bore.
Shelby County Commissioner Edmund Ford Jr., a member of the longtime Memphis political family, was indicted in late February on bribery and tax evasion charges.
The indictment alleged that Ford pushed through nearly $570,000 to three unnamed nonprofits through a community grants scheme. Ford would push for money to be disbursed to various nonprofits and coordinate various ways for him to then receive the money given to the organizations, prosecutors allege. Those nonprofits then, in total, wrote $251,749.70 in checks to Ford's businesses, prosecutors say.
Yes, Ford was from Memphis, and lost re-election years ago based on his views. His “career” was based on his daddy. I do remember a profile story of HF early when he started appearing on the Five - it showed the interior of his house/apartment that had a poster of Che Guevara in a prominent position. I can not see or hear him without thinking of his support for Che. Memories are good sometimes to save time when assessing what someone says. Just sayin’

Harold Ford in national politics keeps the rest of his family out of federal prison. They run because like sharks, they must keep swimming or die. Politics is the great protector for the family crime syndicate.
He’s really boring. Soft pedals everything. He knows he’s in the lions den and there’s really no place for him in his own party. Too nice and soft spoken.
You read it wrong. He’s wise enough to know why he’s there, and doesn’t want to draw attention to himself. That would draw incoming right into his family’s laps. He needs to stay under the radar and out of controversy.
He is a lot easier to take than that whiney liberal woman he sits in for.

Its could only mean he heeds the job. There’s no room for him on elected politics. Couldn’t get in the senate.
I like Harold. He’s a traditional liberal, not one of the nutjob progressives and socialists most democrats are. I don’t agree with his politics, of course, but he behaves as a gentleman, unlike your average democrat.
He is the quiet fixer, serving no constituents besides his own family concerns. He is a benign nebbish within the fray of politics, yet affable as the media presents him.
He won't agree with them, either, but he will say that he doesn't disagree with them.

They double down and insist they were right all along, or change the goal-posts of their original position.
I’m always relieved when Harold is on instead of fingernails on the blackboard Jessica. Of course I fast forward past whatever they’re saying, but in case I accidentally hear them his voice is much easier to take. And the In Your Face Harold segments are fun.
I hope it's Katie Pavlich. She's a good foil for Jessica Tarlov who's always pushing some outlier poll or rare fringe exception to everything.

As I recall, Ford did not get defeated for the House. He lost the general election for the Senate seat in 2006 to Bob Corker, who was in the Howard Henry Baker tradition of the TN GOP.
