May 9 (UPI) -- An animal control officer in Pennsylvania came to the rescue of a stowaway cat found crying under the hood of a state senator's vehicle.
The Middletown Township Police Department said on social media that state Sen. Frank Farry, R-District 6, was driving this week when he "heard an animal crying" under the hood of his vehicle

Odd in warm weather. They will often try to climb in when the temps are low. One of my rescue kitties was found in the engine block of someone’s vehicle. Happily they heard it before turning on the engine.

Our family cat crawled into the engine compartment of my father’s car on a cold day, when he started it the fan chopped the cat’s head off. At least it was quick. RIP Sugarfoot.
When I was a kid our cat was resting with the power steering belt against its spine. Mom started the car and there was all sorts of thumping and fur flying out from under the hood. The cat managed to jump the belt off and lose all of the fur along its spine yet had no injuries.
Federal kitnapping and animal cruelty charges will be brough since, it wss a republican afterall.

I remember the exact same thing happening to our family with a neighbor‘s cat in the early 1970s. We had a 1967 old 88, which had a shelf for the battery on both the left and the right side of the engine compartment, so one was empty. Well, one day my mother took my brothers and I to the grocery store to do some shopping, and when we came out, I saw a cat that looked exactly like our neighbor’s cat, Victor. Well, it was Victor. I caught him, and we returned him back home. It was pretty easy, even for a 10-year-old like me, to figure out what had happened.
I can’t blame this state senator, because cats are not exactly the smartest animals on the planet. No one is going to open the hood of their car every time they started up to check and see if some idiot cat is throwing away. At least the cat didn’t get chopped up by the fan blade (which happened to a college roommate of mine when he was in high school - he said that it took three days to clean the engine compartment out of all of the blood and fur).

Now DOOMED to be called Senator Frank "Furry" for the rest of his public career.
I check under the hood and get down to look under the vehicle. Lost too many kitties who thought the car a safe place.

My cat never goes out if the temp is under 50. Not even to her nice little yard.

We would bang on the hood of our cars in winter time. The cats would climb in for the heat.
