The list of potential benefits of the shingles vaccine continues to grow.
Beyond protecting against the viral infection and resulting painful rash, the shot has also been linked to a reduced risk of dementia, as Fox News Digital previously reported.
And now, a new study has found that the vaccine could lower the risk of heart disease for up to eight years.
DEMENTIA RISK COULD DIP WITH COMMON VACCINE, STUDY SUGGESTS
In the long-running study, researchers analyzed up to 12 years of data for more than 1.2 million people aged 50 or older in South Korea, focusing on shingles vaccination rates and 18 different types of cardiovascular disease.
....
"The study used a live vaccine, whereas the U.S. uses Shingrix, a recombinant (non-live) vaccine," Dalawari noted. "It’s important to note that Shingrix is over 90% effective against shingles, compared to the live vaccine's 51%."

Yes, let us reverse these great stats by replacing Shingrix and other vaccines with mRNA. Depopulationists everywhere will rejoice.
Well, you're lucky. I had the first Shingrix shot and within a few seconds, was going into anaphylactic shock, could not breathe. I took the shot in a pharmacy, so they administered some Benedryl, which took away the symptoms, slowly. Was very scary.
Bull Halsey was in the hospital with a condition that might have been shingles during the Battle of Midway.
unexpected.
Merck’s shingles vaccine is called Zostavax, a live attenuated virus vaccine. It was previously available in the United States, but it’s no longer available for use since 2020. A newer recombinant vaccine, Shingrix, is now the preferred and recommended shingles vaccine for adults 50 and older.
Two of my children worked in the Merk plant making that vaccine. They both quit saying Merk sucks as an employer. Their poor quality control is why my daughter quit Merk.
Merk has lawsuits against it due to side effects of their vaccine.

“ What’s so bad about getting shingles?”
——————
I have spoken to a number of people who have had shingles. You really do not want to go through that experience. One person in particular, the father of a lifelong friend of mine, got shingles. He was a pretty tough and stoic guy, but my friend reports that he was crying like a baby because of the immense pain that shingles caused him. Again, you really don’t want to get this.
I am not a doctor, and I am not your doctor, but suffice it to say that I got the two shingles shots within the last few years (and I am not a huge advocate of vaccines by and a stretch of the imagination). If I didn’t get them yet, I would get them before they become part of the inventory of mRNA “vaccines.“
Being unable to sleep is a huge health problem. If you do get shingles, I strongly recommend immediate antivirus.
Shingle vax with autoimmune conditions like diabetes arthritis?
Anyone.
I was thinking of trying it.
I had chicken pocks really bad when I was a kid...so wondering if I should roll the dice.
I don’t normally do any vax...I don’t trust doctors as to be anything other than salesmen for pharmaceuticals anymore.
They have collectively destroyed public trust in them as a whole.
I got it for about the same reason. My 80 year old uncle had a bad case of shingles all over his body. I was not interested in getting my own case.
I also used to get an immediate 102 degree temperature and sore throat every time I received a flu shot (which I have stopped getting since they never seem to make much difference). Maybe my immune system just overreacts to vaccines or something. I’ve known other people who had no major issues with the Shingrix vaccine, but most have had at least some short-lived side effects, even if mild.
As far as I know it’s working, since I haven’t gotten shingles, but it’s always impossible to know if the results would have been different without the vaccine.
I got mine from the VA and just found out it uses the live vaccine.
I got the two shots at the VA during the last ten months, would that be the Shingrix?
a shot for the elderly has a probability of killing them?
color me shocked.
A few years ago a guy about my age (64) got shingles in his eyes and it messed him up. That convinced me to get the traditional shingles vax. It is a traditional vax and had at least 60 years of successful use. I’m sure it’s the last vax I will ever get.
I am not a doctor. Shingrix is the most common in the USA now, but there may be other 2 shot vaxxes for all I know.
See post 34, what was the vaccine?
“”””I’m sure it’s the last vax I will ever get.””””
I just got the Pneumonia shot and will get another tetanus shot at some point.
I took both shots more than five years ago. I have seen people who have had shingles that have disfigured facial features. It affects you is sort of like Bell’s palsy does. It’s very painful. Right or wrong I’ve had the shot.
