Any safety concerns with a 1kV automobile electric system. Sounds like a FAFO situation waiting to happen.
Now we are really doomed. /s
Plug them into hydroelectric power plants and maybe we can talk.
Perhaps. But for me I have no desire for one even if it charges in five minutes. EVs are critical materials resource hogs. In the total picture they are highly polluting. ICE vehicles as polluters is highly exaggerated.
As long as owning one is chosen entirely by free market principles and NOT government incentives and coercion, I'm fine if someone wants to spend THEIR OWN money on one.
But NO more lies about EVs being environmentally friendly and "non" polluting. Propaganda of the worst sort.
Until then no sale.

All we need is a nuclear power plant on every street corner.
Interesting article. But I trust nothing the ChiComs do. So I wouldn’t put it past them to rig the EV demonstrations at the Shanghai Auto Show.
Maybe I’m just being too suspicious.
🤔
Wonder about the heat developed with that large blast of energy in such a short period. If batteries catch fire...yow.
Still....could be practical.
So they were given an organized tour, under completely controlled conditions?
Yeah it’s all fun and games until the power goes out. Hurricanes, snowstorms, floods, earthquakes. Then you’re stuck wherever you’re at. No thanks 🙂↔️
In other words, I'm not sure the BYD Han L is comfortable for road trips. So the speed of fast charging is irrelevant.
The demand charges the utilities charge pulling 1,000 kWh makes this unviable. Of course the public utilities will probably be cajoled into exempting car charging stations from the demand fees, while continuing to stick it to every other business that uses more than 199 kWh in a single burst.
It’s a game changer alright. Plug 50,000 of these in all at once and crash the grid. That’ll change things.
The answer is still no to EVs. They suck, especially Chinese ones but if I can’t hear it start, I ain’t driving it and if allows for hands off or self driving , I’m not getting in it. If I have to login to it, I’m not driving it.
My first thought is some guy standing in a puddle charging at 1,000 volts.
But it’s not the volts…it’s the amps. LOL
The Chinese lie. And they are famous for hiring shills to push their shoddy products.

Cool. I can recharge every 20 miles at the next exit!! Pick up mcdonalds too but I just cant eat that much.
I forsee explosions in the future. It’s a great strategy to get rid of cars. Force people to buy electric cars and then blow them up. China probably doesn’t need product liability insurance because they would just refuse to pay.
The Chinese are starting to innovate, not just copy. I suspect India will be doing the same within 10 years. The US already has serious competition at the leading edge of technology and it’s going to get worse.
