Lawyers for Letitia James are claiming that the investigation into her alleged mortgage fraud is politically motivated. That sound you just heard is an irony detector exploding.
This is especially rich, considering that James is trying to distract from her legal woes by launching yet another lawsuit against Trump.
Are her lawyers not aware that she ran for office almost entirely on the promise to ‘get Trump’ for any reason she could find? She actually campaigned on it.
Now that she is facing charges of her own, it’s suddenly politically motivated? It is to laugh.
It has also been revealed that the taxpayers of New York are going to be forced to pay for Letitia James’ defense.

Cheating the system to obtain more favorable loan terms is EXACTLY what James prosecuted Trump for. Knowing her own thin ice, she should have deferred that case to a different prosecutor in her office. If she had, we wouldn't be here today.
It's kinda like the Menendez brothers pleading for the mercy of the court because they are now orphans.

I don’t know how useful this would actually be in court, but couldn’t prosecutors go after Letitia James by virtue of the fact that she publicly campaigned on prosecuting Donald Trump?
