First I wish I could read the actual article from the Asheville Times but it’s behind a paywall. Even GROK can’t find a free copy. Anywhere here is my summary:

A kindhearted man opened up his land for refugees from the flood. He spent 70,000 dollars of his own money and allowed Non-profits and FEMA to bring food, supplies etc. As well as countless hours of work he, his family and friends devoted to helping them.

A LGBTQ couple who were homeless before the flood , but took a donated camper, then called a local newspaper and complained. That rag then released a hit piece full of false hoods attacking the man and his people.

This video was produced to expose the real events and defend the owner as claimed by an observer.

It's bad enough that this pos masquerading as a reporter for some msm rag is able to hide behind his editors, but this post - and the video itself - is hardly doing anything to present answers and more information.

FReepers posting such content need to do more. Period. My contribution is below, a pertinent screenshot from the video which I skipped through after almost dismissing your post entirely because I had no knowledge of context or its origin whatsoever.

Will Hofmann is the writer of the hitpiece which trashed the volunteers and lied about pertinent facts, employed by the Asheville Citizen Times.

Those with more time than me and access to social media can find him and share more in this thread if inclined.

I never did ascertain the name of the guy in the camo hat who's running the whole camp and directing the meager resources to supporting those encamped (info you failed to include), but someone else (or YOU) can find & post that information.

I do not get this aggressive unfriendliness that’s so common on FR.:
1. My post is “hardly doing anything”. Well I did a search and nothing was posted about it before so I’m the FIRST person to bring it to FR. That’s something isn’t it?

I’ve lost count how many posts I’ve chosen not to make because I simply didn’t have time to contribute more than the source. This ‘shortcut’ trend is maddening and your immediate defensiveness is, well...

I’ve been guilty of lazy posts myself (LONG ago), but made the decision to either do more or NOT post because I refuse to assume that all FReepers have the time to watch a 10 minute video to gain any context whatsoever, or watch a snippet x post on a topic barely covered by the headline.

I expended over 20 minutes of my time due to the OP (again, all on ME, because I ‘chose’ to learn more). If your presumption is that that is Ok, then you have some hella unstated bias on your part.
