Agreed.
But I also note that In addition, we forewarned them and our own war planners as to the damage potential that these bombs possessed. They both chose to reject that warning as being nothing more than bluster.
Without the horrific examples of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the war planners would still be dismissing the forewarning right up until they were actually used on real cities and real people. A paper opinion report is a lot easier to ignore than mass graves which are still easier to ignore than real people writhing in hospitals or in public horribly scared and crippled.
Right now, I am very upset with Congress, both Houses, at their reluctance to get serious about reducing the budget by by at least a trillion, and better would be 2 trillion in order to get to a budget that stops adding trillions to the debt.
The Biden administration kept refinancing the deficit spending with short-term T-Bills, which only creates a continued growth in the interest payments that keep coming due every 6-12 months.
This cannot continue. Sadly, DJT keeps calling the budget a big beautiful budget. However without big cuts in spending the problem only continues to grow more & more serious. If the dollar is successfully dumped as the world's reserve currency it will be devastating.
