Brutal. God have mercy.
What a hard walk.
Idiopathic is often a nasty word.
Agree. We’ve dined there - good food, great laid-back vibe.
“Idiopathic is often a nasty word”
.
My Neurologist explained a “nervousness” in my torso (which I’d described as a “purring” sensation) was “idiopathic”.
It was like the peripheral neuropathy in my feet but was most intense in my trunk.
Good-naturedly he said, “Don’t come back”.
Wow, what a tragic and amazing story about your mom. So sorry to hear that.
My FIL’s story is a bit similar. In his mid 70s, he got sick and was admitted to ICU. He, too, had always been healthy except for really bad arthritis that disfigured his hands. He was the nicest, happiest guy you’d ever know. In ICU, he promptly fell into a coma and his organs began failing. He was out on dialysis, then a ventilator. After a week or so, the doctors said there was nothing they could do, said he was going to die that night, and called my wife and I to say good bye to him. At the hospital, my wife approved removing the life support machines .
He did not die. Several days later, he came out of the coma on his own. He lived five more years and died peacefully while,on vacation in Hawaii.
Like your mom, they never could determine what had happened or why.
