Another thing we are better off at is we have not gone the full socialism tilt. A friend stopped by yesterday who has farmland in Manitoba. He’s selling. He went on quite a rant on how socialist they are up there. They are like zombies with their freebies. And the farmers are taxed to death, taxes on farming are going up 12% soon, I believe to 37%. I never fully understood what the tax was, but it’s forcing him to sell for he can no longer profit at farming. He’s pissed because these idiots just voted for more socialism and it’s only going to get worse.
MY POINT IS: We do not want any Provinces hooked up with us as a state. They will simply be California-Lite. Places like Alberta may talk a good conservative game, but they will vote for democrat policies every time just like California Republicans vote for socialist policies every time.

Canada is a great place to live if you are a school janitor. I know one of those. Once you obtain some success, it sucks.
And then there is the widely available TV series Heart Land. Heart Land might be a fantasy version of Dallas, North. Heart Land is an Alberta ranch in an idealic setting, populated by a large multigenerational family.
One daughter left and obtained an MBA from a New York City university. Another received a scholarship in rodeo bronc riding from a college in Texas. The grandfatherly patron spent several months recovering from a heart attack in Arizona. The divorced father took up with a woman involved in the horse racing business in California. A young and wild couple ran off to Montana to be married by what turned out to be a fake Justice of the peace.
The point is, these conservative to the bone people rely on the USA to the south for all sorts of support as the regular course of life.
There is never an intrusion into this idealism by the Asians stirring up hate and trouble in Calgary. There is never a strong word about the rape of the land from Toronto
