What's wrong with giving veterans a day?
And in what sense was November 11 a victory for the U.S?
World War One was a purely European affair. No evil dictators involved, just competing colonial empires. Had the U.S. not intervened, the war might have ended in stalemate. No Hitler, no WW2, no Soviet expansion or Cold War.
Trump thinks that WW1 is some kind of American victory? How Wilsonian of him.

America did defeat the enemy in WWI. Obviously it was not the war to end all wars as advertised.

WWI wasn't a victory for anyone. It was an armistice, and it was prelude
and cause of the greatest disaster of the 20th Century. The world would
have been better if the US had stayed out of WWI.
Armistice Day should be a day of mourning.
