I thought Kimmel was moving out of the country. What happened with that?

Johnny Carson was host when the television shows and movies the guests were hawking were still the Product, in addition to the audience being the Product sold to the advertisers.
Kimmel, Fallon, Myers, Colbert, etc. are only hawking viewers as the Product to advertisers. The actors, actresses, athletes, musicians, etc. no longer need television to reach new fans.
Kimmel, Fallon, Myers, Colbert, etc. don't need to deliver anything worthwhile. In fact, it's frowned on. Don't get the riff-raff's standards up.

Maybe he’s going to be one of the one and half million American, “undocumented” illegal aliens currently living in Mehico who were “warmly greeted” by the Mexican people. This according to the new Mexican Queen.

Watching the old Carson reruns on YouTube reflects how far we have fallen. Johnny had a quick wit, self deprecating humor, and listened to his guests. The newer formats just don’t work. Wrong approach, contrived scripts, poor humor, zero intellect, hyper political.
Carson’s show was lightning in a bottle. The other guys have nothing, just terrible imitations.

Every once in a while I catch an old Carson show on youtube.

He respected his guests and expected the same.
Within that great context, it was safe to be funny, tell jokes, and laugh at each other.
That balance seems lost these days.

Moreso than the rest of the crop, Conan’s material was just funny. He (largely) stayed away from political stuff, therefore his reruns are evergreen.

Kimmel is a sanctimonious A-hole. After the “Man-show”, he is suddenly the conscience of Hollywood?
Please...
