Trump 2028 merchandise, including t-shirts, hats, and can coolers, are now available for sale in Trump’s official online store. The t-shirt says “TRUMP 2028 (Rewrite the Rules),” and the ad copy adds cheerfully: “The future looks bright! Rewrite the rules with the new Trump 2028 t-shirt.” As you may expect, heads are already exploding on the left.
A leftist who has over 41,000 followers on X and exhorts them to “Resist” summed up a common leftist response to Trump’s floating the idea of a third term by writing, “The ‘Trump 2028’ push is a calculated campaign to normalize authoritarianism in America. With 270 million followers, Musk is the most powerful political amplifier alive - and he's using that reach to casually mainstream the idea of a dictatorship.” On ABC30 Action News’ post about the store offerings, one woman commented, “Hell no, please impeach this man already!” Ah, yes, the Democrats’ perennial fallback strategy.
The establishment media, meanwhile, hastened to remind the world that the 22nd Amendment says that “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.” The Guardian warns that “any serious effort to amend the founding document would send the United States into uncharted territory.” Yeah, who ever heard of the Constitution being amended? Uncharted territory, indeed.
And in late March, when Trump suggested that he was interested in a third term and that the 22nd Amendment wasn’t an insurmountable obstacle (although in all the excitement, it has been completely forgotten that he also said, “I'm not looking at that” and "I don't even want to talk about a third term now”), New York Magazine stopped hyperventilating long enough to publish an article entitled: “If Trump Gets a 3rd Term, Democracy Will Have Already Ended.

Seems to me it’s more of a joke to set the dims heads to smoking. However, for his sake I hope that’s just what it is, to get under their skin. I don’t think it would be healthy for him, after the next 3 & 1/2 years I would think he would have had enough of their bs. He can get the ball rolling, then hand the job over to someone younger who would follow in his footsteps.

I disagree. Anybody still watching the propaganda press is already too far gone for Trump to have gotten their vote.
Conversely, a lot more normal people, tired of the propaganda press, enjoy the badass Trump trolling the easily triggered, brainwashed, left. IMO, he gained more of these votes than he lost to people watching the propaganda press.
The purpose of trolling is to get the leftists to get crazier and crazier.

There are no term limits for senators (although there should be) and a two term limit, with provisions for someone assuming the office midterm (LBJ in 1963 could have run again for his term 2.3), was instituted via the 22nd amendment while Truman was in office.
The only reason to “go mad” is the realization of Trump’s popularity compared to the Democrat hopeless failures who haven’t presented a single solution for anything while destroying the states they run.

Can be reversed. Therefore, to say, it can’t happen, it’s unconstitutional is not true. Could happen with another look at this silliness

Was instituted yes. By congress who didn’t institute the same for themselves. To say it can’t be done it would be unconstitutional them is correct

A thought: The death of the Post Constitutional Banana Republic would hasten to bring about New Guards for its future security, as the Declaration of Independence states should happen.

That’s a message, too. Even more direct than 45-47 or Trump 2028.
Obliteration of the Deep State and the draining of the Swamp would mean the death of the Banana Republic in its current Swamp form.
Trump 2028 would then be a good candidate to become the First President of the New Constitutional Republic effective date coinciding with the death date of the current Banana Republic.
And we can be assured that any of these future events could/would trigger any Democrats still around if they survive the death of their Swamp.
