Certainly they jam a great deal of advertising which is poorly presented. Whoever designed the format did a dreadful job at least from the standpoint of readability.

All are unreadable. The sites have to make money, and unlike a newspaper where you can choose what you want to read, internet sites don’t give you that option, they force you to see every ad, like it or not. I see no solution to this apart from subscribing to every site you visit, which cannot be done. We are stuck with this.

I use Safari which has a Reader function, one click, and the site goes from this:

I think other browsers may have similar functions. Fungi is right, people gotta make money, but some are more intrusive than others. I particularly hate Daily Mail and The New York Post.
