There are trillions of mosquitoes easy of the Mississippi yet you would think everyone would be affected by the dengue and Zika diseases but that is not the case.
I have been in Southern California since 1988 in the San Fernando valley and I can count the number of mosquitoes I have seen on one hand.

In Kern County California they have been really bad for many years. Just walk out in the yard with capris on and wind up with many bites on the legs. Yeah, they bite low. And it seems like their bites itch much worse than regular mosquitos.
