Costco’s pork is sourced from various suppliers, primarily
within the United States, including suppliers like Smithfield.
Costco also operates its own meat production plant in Morris, Illinois.
Costco sources 95.5% of their fresh pork from farms.
I'd rather ask a chicom.
So, Miami Rebel, what are you going to eat now that Xi isn't letting you import any more pork?
I suppose you could always go back to eating:
O.K. I'll bite. Pass me some inexpensive pork please and hold the cheap plastic toys.
Not keen on pork, but it certainly won’t dink my dining preferences.
You might recall that in the not-too-distant past, 2018-2019, the first Trump administration came to the aid of American farmers to the tune of $16 billion, including $14.5 billion in cash payments to farmers.
Since a lot of small farmers live season to season, I’d expect a new farm rescue plan to be launched soon.
It is time to start confiscating properties in the US owned in any part by the Chinese. That would send a message for sure.
Time to fill up the freezer with some pork chops and loin roasts. Bacon should come down in price! freeze them too!
Except for bacon, pork has been pretty cheap around here in northeast Oklahoma for quite some time.
Good luck with that; they own over FORTY brands! Nathan’s, Armour, Eckrich, Gwaltney, Farmland and John Morrell, to name a few, including some high end brands.
Smithfield Foods became a wholly- owned subsidiary of Shuanghui International Holdings Limited, creating a leading global pork enterprise. The following year, Shuanghui International Holdings Limited was renamed WH Group.
I’ve got lots of problems with the Chinese, but I never have understood the issue with Chinese land ownership here.
It’s not like they’re going to export our farmlands to Canton or that they bought them so that they could sow them with salt. If they outbid US buyers, that means the American seller made more money from their investment. The Americans who sold to them made good money and the Chinese bought them to grow crops and raise livestock. A pig or an ear of corn doesn’t know who raised it.
But speaking of foreign ownership of American farmlands, the Chinese own less than 1%. Italy owns 7%, the Netherlands 12%, and Canada 31%. None of the ownerships have affected agricultural output.
Preach it!
And not just beef and pork.
ALL foods and goods.
Yeah, that’s when I stopped buying it. Actually we eat very little pork anyway.
US pork is all MRNA vaxxed. I avoid pork that is not from a local farm that does not use the vaxx. That goes for beef, too. Gates has made it a goal to get all commercial meat animals vaxxed. So far chickens and turkeys seem to be save from the depopulator Gates.
Ironically, ban the PLA from owning Smithfield. All PLA ownership of American crop fields and abbatoirs? OVER.
Don Tyson and Bill Clinton were allied.
