By convincing Ukraine that he will do nothing to help and Russia that he will do nothing to hinder, Trump has effectively removed any US leverage.

I'm in Europe right now: everyone is finding a workaround for the Trump admin's positions.

The actual peace deal proposed would have the US helping in various ways such as controlling the electrical production facility so that both countries are supplied.

If the deal is refused, nothing from the US.

The only question left is just how crazy Zelensky and the EU actually are.

Maybe you’ve missed on that the US has no leverage with Zelensky. Zelensky is willing to go the Nazi Germany route and put women, girls, and boys on the front lines. He wants every Ukrainian dead in his war against Russia.

He wants to provoke WWIII. That is what the puppet masters want. If Zelensky were to offer up peace, he’d be a dead man on orders from his puppet masters.

"Trump has effectively removed any US leverage."

USA never had leverage to begin with. Supplying zelensky
with cash and weapons only prolonged the inevitable.

Bail out now please, President Trump.

Many adults have never actually entered into, conducted, and then successfully concluded, a negotiation of any real importance.

Does this describe you?

Because it looks as if it does.

You think US sanctions on Russia, with more to follow, won’t hinder them?

Actually, Trump has put himself in a position whereby no one wants to cross him on the deal will get worst for them. Pretty good all things considered. It hurts to hear but Ukraine lost. What do you really expect Trump to do, convince Putin to give back all his gains? Who is willing to spend endlessly for that outcome? If Ukraine wants to keep going go for it but the deal you get today will be substantially better than the deal you’ll get in 5 years.

You don't think that is part of the point for President Trump. Let Europe handle this? Let them spend the money.

As an American with no respect for any European country, I will tell you, the sooner Europe takes over and starts spending their own money, the faster we will see a peace deal go in place. Europeans are notoriously cheap and when Zelensky sees they have no intention of spending the kind of dough he needs to wage war, he will finally understand what President Trump has been telling him all along.
