TRUMP: Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is boasting on the front page of The Wall Street Journal that, “Ukraine will not legally recognize the occupation of Crimea. There’s nothing to talk about here.” This statement is very harmful to the Peace Negotiations with Russia in that Crimea was lost years ago under the auspices of President Barack Hussein Obama, and is not even a point of discussion. Nobody is asking Zelenskyy to recognize Crimea as Russian Territory but, if he wants Crimea, why didn’t they fight for it eleven years ago when it was handed over to Russia without a shot being fired? The area also houses, for many years before “the Obama handover,” major Russian submarine bases. It’s inflammatory statements like Zelenskyy’s that makes it so difficult to settle this War. He has nothing to boast about! The situation for Ukraine is dire — He can have Peace or, he can fight for another three years before losing the whole Country. I have nothing to do with Russia, but have much to do with wanting to save, on average, five thousand Russian and Ukrainian soldiers a week, who are dying for no reason whatsoever. The statement made by Zelenskyy today will do nothing but prolong the “killing field,” and nobody wants that! We are very close to a Deal, but the man with “no cards to play” should now, finally, GET IT DONE. I look forward to being able to help Ukraine, and Russia, get out of this Complete and Total MESS, that would have never started if I were President!

Well which is it? Putin is weak and his army is riding donkey and fighting with shovels? Or he’s going to roll over Europe

CURRENTLY, Russia is stuck in Ukraine, but given a couple of years they can rearm and would easily overrun the small Baltic States. Even Poland said they could only last 2 weeks vs a Russian attack.

Poland's National Security Bureau chief, Dariusz Łukowski, estimated in March 2025 that Poland could defend itself against a potential attack from Russia (specifically from the Kaliningrad region or Belarus) for "a week or two" with its current ammunition reserves

Russians are not strong enough. Russia has hardly any tanks left. They are using Motor cycles to attack Ukraine and donkeys to deliver supplies to their troops.

Okay then, let the fighting continue. But without our help. We'll see what happens.

Many posting here seem to believe that Ukraine will collapse if the US walks away. That certainly does not appear to be the case.

Trump does not even have to cut off all military aid and I doubt that he will do so

All he has to do is cut off the economic aid that is paying welfare payments to prop up the Ukraine economy and the Ukraine collapse economically by the end of the year.

So why couldn’t Ukraine do the same, if they accepted a peace deal right now? Especially if they will have the EU supporting their rebuilding efforts?

Danny Davis has a German journalist on who is giving a candid explaination of this whole affair right now.

Explains the coup in 2014 and how the Nazi Banderites were financed by outside sources to carry out the 2014 coup.

Most of the economic aid has been coming from Europe and much of the US aid I think was flowing through USAID, which has been stopped already.

No sign of imminent collapse.

Cut off all support to the Zidget and watch him change his tune.

The little worm is motivated by money and only money.

I concur. Zelenskyy doesn’t want peace. Screw him. Hands off and let the chips fall where they may.

Not our monkeys. Not our circus.

I'm in Europe right now: everyone is finding a workaround for the Trump admin's positions.

They have surrendered to the great migration from the east. What is it they think they are working around.

Well, technically, he has said Ukraine will not formally recognize Crimea as Russian. They would have to change their constitution to do that which would require parliamentary support at least and maybe a plebiscite.

Since Trump is asking Ukraine to do that in exchange for nothing, doing so is politically impossible.

“Only thing is, Zelensky will never offer up his own life for Ukraine. He’s very good at offering up everybody else’s though.”

Exactly. The little jerk should be held accountable in some way. I wouldn’t mind seeing him hanging from the nearest tree.

So why couldn’t Ukraine do the same

War ends, so does military aid to Ukraine. Russia has its own massive domestic military industrial complex.

You think US sanctions on Russia, with more to follow, won’t hinder them?

So what you are saying is that Ukraine can only get help from the EU if there is actual fighting going on. So the reason Russia would overtake Ukraine if this peace deal was accepted is because the EU would let them. And that is somehow Trump’s fault.

Have I got that right?

We've already sanctioned Russia and have almost no direct trade. The problem is that the sanctions leak like a sieve through China, Kazakhstan, etc.

Working with the Saudis to push the price of oil down and offer the same "Russian discount" to Asian buyers was probably the smartest move.

But Putin can still extort what he needs to keep the war going economically. His biggest problem is running out of men.
